I can't believe this..
it's almost like the Rangers bullpen has been paid off...they lose this game, they lose the series.

1. Maybe, but if they win tomorrow. The series is still in the Rangers' favor.

2. How do you figure that?
Even if the Rangers were to win game two, which is questionable anyway, the series would be tied with the Yankees holding the home field advantage. The Rangers blew a golden opportunity tonight.

3. Yep, but the Yankees have to face Lee twice, in a best of five.
Which means the Rangers have a great shot, IMO.

5. I'm with you!
But baseball is an odd sport. This could all be forgotten by this time tomorrow.

12. The ALCS is a 2-3-2 format..
meaning if the Yankees win game two, they'll likely finish it off at home. Even if they lose game two, they can avoid ever going back to Texas by taking care of business in NY. Either way, odds are Lee is only going to pitch once..

16. If they win game 2, that's likely.
If they don't win game two, the odds of them finishing it off at home, aren't all that great.

7. That is a great picture
That look on Shrub says it all. I was rooting for Texas but it's great to see Bush unhappy even if it was for a moment.

I was never a great Yankee fan growing up but there is no way in hell I could ever go for a team that Bush once owned and is obviously a big fan of.

Sweet the way the Yankee's won and that Rivera took out their best at the end.

If you look close it's the white guys against the diversity team.

10. The Yankees are the "diversity team"?
Give me a break. The only color NY features is pure green..

2010 payrolls

Yankees: 206 million

Rangers: 55 million

13. Steinbrenner donates to Republican causes
Frequently. He is no better than Bush. Worse actually because he's a rich republican in a very liberal area. The people who are cheering the Yankees win because Bush used to own them are hypocrites. All of them. I hate the Yankees cause they are the Yankees. Politically there are everybit as loathesome as Texas- and have done to baseball what Bush did to this country. Screwed it up big time. So no, cheering Steinbrenners disgusting team isn't the democrratic thing to do..:barf:

14. Steinbrenner
chaired the DSCC dinner in the 70s. In fact, Ted Kennedy tried to get him to be Chair of the DNC back in the day. He had a shipbuilding company, so he contributed to politicians of both parties. He depended on government contracts for his business. If you read Tip O'Neill's book, you'll see Tip defending him.

15. Funny how the Yankees fans will divert the attention away from their "buying" success every
year, by saying that $teinbrenner contributed to both parties.

First, it's comparing apples and oranges, and second for those making that statement, PROVE IT.
