BTW......It's hockey season |
|
Just thought I'd mention that lol.
Thus far it's been interesting. Always funny to see fan bases make a big deal over a small sample size of games. Folks in Toronto think they are gonna make the post season after an 4-0 start.
Fans on Long Island think the team has turned the corner given the team is in first place after six games.
Lots of people thinking New Jersey's reign of dominance over the Atlantic may be over after one of the worst starts in team history.
I guess this is like "hope springs eternal" like they say in baseball. Will agree though that this looks like it's going to be a real interesting year.

Would like to try to catch some Coyotes games this year because I can't watch them on cable. The tickets are very cheap compared to other pro sports teams and even cheaper than Sun Devil tickets. The problem is the arena is all the way out in Glendale and I got to try to find an afternoon game start and evening finish so I can make it back to forth on public transportation, which also means it can't be on a Sunday since buses don't run in Mesa, AZ on Sunday's (Mormon Law).

2. I haven't even watched a baseball playoff game yet. |
|
It's been all hockey here.
The B's are off to a nice start, but now they have to play at home, and they struggled there last year. But I like what I've seen so far. They sucked in the first 2 periods of the season, but have played very solid since then, with Thomas in net instead of Rask so far. Thomas has only given up 2 goals in the three games he's played, and is playing like the Vezina winner he was a couple of years ago. His offseason hip surgery must have helped.
I watched that Islanders game where they came back against the Rangers (always a good thing). That was an exciting game.

4. Both the Lightning and the Bruins are off to a good start. |
|
So I'm happy. I'm getting to watch more and more of the Lightning games, thanks to not 1 but 2 Florida sports networks. Our goaltending could be better, but if we stay injury free we should have a good season.

6. I like this young Islanders team. |
|
I'm not going crazy over the start but I think they have a shot to make the playoffs this year. In a year or two they will be serious contenders.

7. My Hawks, So Far, Are M'eh |

Too many salary cap casualties. Not sure if they will be able to really compete, unless some of these lower cost guys get better than they've showed so far.
The big stars are still superb, but they don't seem quite as fast and shifty as a team. But, Q is a good teacher, so maybe he'll figure something out.
I've got tickets to two games this year, so i'm hoping they step it up. GAC
