23. Are you a bitter Yankees fan or a bitter Phillies fan?
If the latter, I just want you to know I'd be rooting for the Phillies if THEY'd won the pennant, because I always root against the Yankees.

Of course, if the former, that last statement would be no comfort to you at all, but whatever.

9. This will be an epic series.
The Giants who against all odds won the pennant and the Rangers who have won their first. This is almost as exciting as 2005 was for me.

Congratulations Giants and Rangers fans!

conflict with football :)

12. A very nice series if you ask me
Two teams no really thought would be there at the beginning of theseason. Giants pitching vs the Rangers bats. Maybe a matchup of Lee vs Lincecum or Cain. Should be very interesting and each game has a chance of being a 1-2 run decider. Josh Hamilton has turned into one of my favorite players (being a kid from NC) so I guess I'll be pulling for the Rangers.

And the absolute best thing of all: The yankees will be watching it with us hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

 but I'll be rooting for the Giants too..... that is of course only when the Packers aren't playing football. It's gonna be a tough one to watch tonight with ol' Brent coming to town. UGH.

25. Bear in mind that W never "owned" them
He had a relatively small percentage in them financially.

More importantly, he has no connection with them now. I too would root against them were he still any part of them. But he's not.

As an aside, did anyone else notice that the Rangers were pretty much in control of game #1vs. The Yankmes until Bush's smirking face appeared on the TV. It all went to crap right after that.

18. I'm actually happy about this years series,
and I plan to watch every second of it, although I know the announcers will spend every breath on "why the Yanks aren't there"

I didn't watch a second of the Yankee's this playoff season(and I haven't since 03 or so), I'm so sick of seeing the same teams make it every year, because it appears I'm watching re-run playoffs/WS every year, it gets boring as hell to me.

I'm very happy the Rangers/Giants are in the Big Dance...I don't even know who to cheer for, but I'm going to enjoy seeing a WS in which there are teams no one thought, would be there.

40. I can remember when the World Series was through by September
The earliest it can end this year is the first of NOVMEMBER! And now the NFL is making noises about adding two more games to the schedule, which would push the Super Bowl into mid-February! And all so the owners can milk a little more $$$$$.

26. I thought it was pretty funny when the "Dazed and Confused" guys sued
The first paragraph gets me to LOL.

When we last saw them, Wooderson and Slater and "Pink" Floyd were stoned out of their gourds, driving into the East Texas sunrise in Wooderson's souped-up Chevy Chevelle, off on a sacred quest for Aerosmith tickets and smoking a breakfast joint as the Foghat song "Slow Ride" played and the end credits of "Dazed and Confused" began to roll.

But that was a long time ago, man, and it was just a movie anyway -- a made-up story with actors playing Wooderson, Slater and Floyd. Right now -- 11 years after the movie came out -- the real Wooderson, Slater and Floyd are here, sitting at this long, shiny conference table in a Huntsville law office, looking older and less hairy and a bit peeved. They're explaining why they recently filed suit against their old high school acquaintance Richard Linklater, who made "Dazed and Confused" back in 1993, for "defamation" and "negligent infliction of emotional distress."

"Like, for example, the scene that shows me showing somebody how to make a bong in shop class," says Andy Slater, now 45. "I did not do that. I never did that. But they used my name and they show me making a bong in shop class."

Slater pauses for a second, then smiles. "I don't sit around the house making bongs -- dammit."

It is long but well worth the read IMO. I think it is interesting that one had to convince a girlfriend's parents he wasn't the cannabis smoking slacker he was portrayed in the film.

36. I think it will be great!!
I live a busy, full, complicated life with a lot of stress. If you've ever watched my Hawkeyes, you know that watching football is hardly the time to kick back and relax. At the end of most days, I'm tired and dream of quiet fare. I think of watching grass grow, or paint dry, or motes of dust floating in sunbeams.....and the 2010 World Series.

37. No You Wouldn't
Nobody ever wants to Ishtar again. Nobody! Besides, it's at least a novel matchup. Never happened before.

And, it's not two small market teams. Dallas and SF are two very big cities.

I wouldn't expect many offensive fireworks, but it could still be interesting.

And besides, like i said, you can't possibly mean what you said. NOBODY would willingly watch Ishtar, no matter the alternative.
