Phillies fans tried to spike Giants' players food with Ex-Lax
Edited on Tue Oct-26-10 07:08 PM by Upton

According to an article that appeared in today's Philadelphia Daily News, a group of women at a restaurant on Friday night (on the eve of the Giants' clinching NLCS Game 6) reportedly recognized Giants players Brian Wilson and Pat Burrell and tried to convince the players' waiter to slip some Ex-Lax in their food.

Luckily, the server at Del Frisco's in Philadelphia refused to go along with it and the Giants went on to beat the Phillies the next night to clinch the National League Championship Series.

Had the waiter gone along with the fans' scheme, there might have been some other clenching going on, if you get my drift.

The city that once booed Santa Claus at a game and whose fans regularly vomit on other fans -- even children -- should be proud of itself.

I thought when I first heard this that it was a joke, but apparently not.....only in Philadelphia.

3. For the record, SF has no restaurant called "Del Philly's"
even if it did, what would it serve? Dried-out beef topped with Cheez Whiz? :P

7. Cheese Steaks are pretty gross aren't they?
Texas Bar B Q'd brisket and fried okra are heaven to me. And Hill Country wurst is the best! Don't let me leave out pecan pie.

10. I'l go with Memphis BBQ myself
I just happened to be down there the weekend before last. And my training site was right down the street from the well-respected Bar-B-Q Shop. Also, one of my colleagues brought back a plate of meat loaf with, you guessed it, fried okra, from the Blue Plate downtown.

Plus, my hotel was right down the block from the AAA affiliate of the Cardinals -- a real baseball team. :P

2. I'm sure a lot fans try crap like this...
Be happy the Giants didn't eat at Olive Garden -- they'd be wretching naturally.

Here's another link to the Daily News. I wanted to confirm this story.
