2. I remember that game really well. |
|
I was 9 years old. Living in Michigan at that time, but I was still a Dolphins fan (just moved from South Florida that Summer). John was always my favorite. I remember playing my 45 the next morning "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" over and over again. Sad anniversary for sure. We lost a truly remarkable human being that night.

3. I'd like to hear more from the geezers here, Rocka. |

One of my few "where were you" moments. In the girls dorm visiting. The fun stopped immmediately.

4. Are you including me?? |

I'm only 39 and I'm a geezer now???
But seriously, I was a huge Beatles fan - still am. John Lennon's last album (Double Fantasy) is still one of my favorites (except for Kiss Me Love - that song is an abomination).

Forgive me. John was the man. I could never warm up to Yoko. Still can't.

I was 23, watching the game on a 9" B&W TV in a tiny apartment in the S.F. Bay Area, alone. It felt like another layer of childhood innocence was stripped away. Lennon's murder was such a mind-boggling senseless, selfish act.

7. I was a sophomore in college. |

I was watching MNF in the room with my room mate. I remember my grandmother called me that night to express her shock and sorrow. I was shocked she even knew who Lennon was, as she had never been exactly supportive of rock and roll, lol.

10. I can tell you this... |
|
..the next coupla' weeks we wore out our Beatles records. And in '80...we had all of them. You could go right from 'Rock Lobster' to 'I am the Walrus' and not skip a beat. To this day the boys sound unique.
