up. Absolutely disgraceful. Maybe they should have the game at the horseshoe in Columbus, OH.

:wtf:

Talk about horrible ATTENDANCE. There is no one in the fucking stadium.

4. Thank you BCS
Bottom line is, the whole bowl thing really depends on the fact that school is out from a bit before Christmas until New Year's Day. That's why fans could travel to see their teams play.

I enjoy college football but I've noticed that ever since they started stringing out the bowl season to accommodate a bogus "title game" I tend to watch the New Year's Day bowls and forget about all the ones that come afterward. If you're not going to have a playoff, at least have the decency to wrap up the college bowl season when it should end - if not January 1 then within a day or two of that.

6. That's why the BCS doesn't like putting PAC-10 teams in the Big one's, mad.
Unless it's USC in the Rose. Then they can play in thier own backyard and their FAITHFUL fans only have to travel 10 miles to get to the game.
Oregon is the only team that sends fans to Bowls. And half of them are fans just because it's hip to like Nike U. Only about 15-20 schools have loyal fans who will travel to the Bowl. Mostly from The Big Ten and SEC.

9. It was Stanford with poor attendance
Edited on Tue Jan-04-11 12:48 PM by JonLP24
It actually grew from last season. Washington, UCLA, and California have great attendance aside from the teams you mention. Washington State is the worst. Oregon State and Arizona have good attendance relative to the size of their stadium. Sad to say Arizona State's is poor. 48,000 average in a 70,000+ stadium.

I can't say how they travel but Stanford had poor attendance regardless. Also Miami is a long ways from California on top of that. I was just pointing that out.

8. Remember when Bowl games where played on Jan 1 and shown on NBC, CBS and ABC?
To me the issue is the fact the BCS and the powers that be seem to feel the need to spread out the games over a 3 week period. I like it better when the majority of games where held on one day (January 1) and shown on major networks.

These days it's a month of bowl games and somehow some stadiums host 2 or 3 bowl games...time for playoffs.

10. The bowl season is too long
It was far more exciting when it all ended on January 1st.

11. I had a chance to go and did not
Most bland stadium in the country, and in an irrelevant location. If it's a 50/50 option you have to stay away, when the venue is Sun Lifeless.

I never missed an Orange Bowl when it was played in the real thing.
