1. No teams better than 7 games over either |
|
Looks like signs of mediocrity to me!

4. Well, We Agree On One Thing, Anyway... :-) |
|
Judging by your avatar...and my stated love of the White Sox, since childhood...I don't suppose there's much else we can agree on right now!!
Have fun winning the Wild Card, Elmer!! :P

Of course I am a prejudiced Nats fan. They are in 1st place now, but a few losses and they're in the cellar. Hopefully it will last all summer.

Best Division my ass!
That would be the AL Central and the NL Central.
NL East may be the TIGHTEST division in baseball...no argument from me there...but that does not make them the BEST division in baseball.
Only that it is the tightest...in that the last-place team there is only 2 1/2 games out of first...whereas, every other division in baseball...the second-place team is more that 2 1/2 games back.
So, all due respect...and as a White Sox fan since childhood...I contest the notion that NL East is the "best division." My vote for that honor is AL Central...followed by NL Central.
AL Central, by the way, is the ONLY Division in baseball with TWO TEAMS OVER .600!!!!
THAT is more the kind of qualification a Division should have to be considered "BEST."
Again, I don't dispute that NL East is the TIGHTEST....

5. The NL central has 2/3 of its teams under .500 |
|
and the AL Central isn't much better. That can't describe the "best division", merely "the divisions with the two best teams".
The NL Central is collectively seven games under .500 while the NL east is 19 games over.
I'm patial to the NL West of course...

will enjoy stomping on your Padres in the playoffs, though!
Though, I must say, as a White Sox fan...the Padres will always have a special place in my heart...not a day goes by that I don't thank you guys for the blessing that was 1984.
ON EDIT - Don't we play you guys tonight??

Luckily for you... neither of our aces are up for any of the three games... but we'll see how it goes.
On edit... "yep"

8. Lets put it another way |
|
The NL is much better than the AL, and has been since the wussy designated hitter "rule" was introduced, so one could say that the NL East is the best division in the National League, ergo the best in baseball. Just stirring the pot boys, keep those cards and letters coming. How bout them fighting Phils and the refound offensive fire power?

I'm not a big fan of the DH, though I've grown to grudgingly accept it over the years. Still, it's difficult to make the argument that the NL is superior since the introduction of the DH, when the AL has won the World Series 18 of the 31 times it's been played since then.
How's that for pot stirring?

of a particular year, and that doesn't compute into said team belonging to the best league. Interleague play was designed so fans of AL teams could see some quality baseball. Stir it up.

7. There seems to be a great deal of division on this matter. |
|
It's June 10. Nobody can say which is the best division in baseball. That's what's so great about baseball!

14. Nats vs. Orioles in the World Series? |

Is it possible? I know the TV networks would not like it, but as for me----I'd love to put a whippin to Balmer.

I would be happy if either won, though I would prefer the Orioles win, Ive been rooting for them my whole life, I hate what Angelos did but I love this team this year.
