Brewers Deal Spivey To Nationals For Ohka
http://www.themilwaukeechannel.com/sports/4594879/detail.html

"The Washington Nationals traded right-handed pitcher Tomo Ohka to the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday in exchange for second baseman Junior Spivey.

Ohka, who was supposed to start Friday's game against Seattle at RFK Stadium, was fined by the Nationals last Sunday for contempt directed towards manager Frank Robinson. Sun-Woo Kim will start in Ohka's place tonight.

Ohka was fined for an incident that occurred in the fourth inning of Saturday night's 7-3 win against Florida, as he turned his back from Robinson when the skipper came to the mound to make a pitching change. Robinson was then forced to grab the ball from Ohka's hand as the pitcher was departing.

Ohka is 4-3 with a 3.33 ERA this season.

..."

Semi-interesting trade, what with the Ohka-Robinson matter. Clearly the Brewers think Weeks can replace Spivey, and the Nats think Drese can replace Ohka. Or they're both hoping that them there's the case(s).

1. Listening to the Mariners/Nationals game, I was wondering
why Ohka wasn't starting.. I missed the pre-game show, so I hadn't heard about the trade... interesting.

2. I seem to remember Ohka being a bit of a "problem child"...
when he was with the Red Sox back in 2000-'01. I'm not sure if that was part of the reason the Sox sent him to Montreal or not though, because his ERA had spiked to over 6 during '01.

3. He dissed the manager last week
Frank Robinson went to the mound to take him out of the game and Ohka turned his back on him. He was pretty much toast after that little incident.
