Lowly Orioles raise ticket prices for 2011 season
BALTIMORE -- The Baltimore Orioles will be raising single-game ticket prices in 2011, even though the team is coming off its 13th consecutive losing season.

The increase is between $1 and $8 per seat, with an average of $3. The increase is the first for the team since 2007 - for games not involving the New York Yankees or Boston Red Sox.

Tickets purchased before the day of a game will cost between $9 and $60. On game day, those prices will increase.

Games involving the Yankees and Red Sox will cost between $11 and $99.

1. Will they pay people to attend when Cleveland visits?
:)

The Giants introduced flex pricing last year. Sounds similar to what Baltimore is doing -- charge more for the hot teams.

2. Baltimore already has flex pricing
prices for prime games (Yankees and Red Sox) already are slightly more expensive than regular games. Orioles tickets were at least less expensive than Nationals tickets. It looks like they're trying to match the Nats' prices.

3. That's because 90% of the stadium are folks either from the NY area or
Boston area attending the game. Gotta jack up the prices for them!!

It's only a 2.5 hour Acela ride from NY and a one hour flight from Boston!
