Peter King's article may be the best
Edited on Tue Feb-08-11 08:45 AM by wilt the stilt
Of all the articles I have read this one stands out.

ARLINGTON, Texas -- This game didn't have the Velcro catch of Giants 17, Patriots 14, or the scintillating drive and Santonio Holmes-catch of Steelers 27, Cardinals 23, or the Tracy Porter pick-six-ness of Saints 31, Colts 17. This game had a little letdown at the end, because we thought we might see some all-time drama from Ben Roethlisberger, again, in the last two minutes, and we didn't. But that's OK -- we've been getting spoiled with great Super Bowls. And compared to the crummy ones we saw for most of a generation, a B-plus football game with some great storylines in the last game of the year is just fine.

Great storylines. There were plenty on a night when Aaron Rodgers tied former Packer Brett Favre for career Super Bowl victories. I found one at the locker of Charles Woodson, about two hours after the Packers beat the Steelers 31-25 in what might be the last NFL game we see for a long while.

3. I ended up reading her putdowns
and I think she comes across as an ass. Her put down of the piece he wrote on Marv Levy and Jimmy Johnson. Johnson was doing an anti intellectual put down. I think it makes her look petty and immature.

4. I should have explained KSK more.

That blog is a collection of about 5 guys that write humor related to the NFL. They are very knowledgeable about football. They would also see it as a compliment that you describe them as "an ass," "petty," and "immature." Not everyone's type of humor, but I love them.

ETA: And they HATE Peter King (a sentiment I share).

5. Peter King may be an ass
But the piece on Charles Woodson was an excellent column and I think captured the feeling inside the Packers locker room. You can be an ass and still write a good article.

8. Makes them look petty
When someone writes a good article acknowledge it. If you can't admire a good column then it makes you look like a bunch of jerks. You only look valid when criticism is valid. if everything is bad then you fall flat on your face ala Sarah Palin

10. I get the KSK thing
and my point is unfair criticism without acknowledging quality makes the look like chumps. It makes them look like a bunch of armchair guys who never have anything good to say. they come across as jealous petty chumps.

11. But your "good article"
is my "more ass kissing and name dropping from Peter King." They expose King's faults on a weekly basis. I very rarely disagree with them. Do you not think that King has been bitching about the weather in Dallas for over a week and then says "I'm not complaining"? Why do you need to say that is a "good article."

If you like King, that's fine, but that doesn't mean everyone needs to.
