Sun spots blamed for lost feed in final minutes of KU-MU game |
|
Here in Kansas City, CBS broke for a commercial with just a few minutes left in the KU-MU game today. After the commercial, they went to a game between two unranked teams and never returned to the KU-MU game.
The local CBS affiliate's phone lines were immediately jammed with irate fans. Within 30 minutes, they stopped answering the phone.
Just now, the local affiliate sent out this tweet:
"KCTV and CBS would like to apologize for the pre-empting of the Border Showdown. CBS Sports experienced Satellite isses due to Sun Spots."
The feed to Topeka viewers was not switched. They saw the end of the game. Since Topeka is only 60 miles west of Kansas City, this leads one to wonder why sun spots weren't affecting the CBS feed there.
Does Topeka have a different sun?
