Miami Heat: Five consecutive losses and counting.
They chose a bad time to tank.

The Lakers -- the hideous Lakers -- are going in exactly the opposite direction at exactly the correct time.

1. Team badly need Udonis Haslem
Edited on Tue Mar-08-11 10:59 PM by JonLP24
They haven't been playing Z a lot lately and gave the starting center job to Erick Dampier who isn't doing much himself. Haslem is quite possibly the best defensive post player they have. Joel Anthony is a very good shot blocker but not very good at anything else. On top of that, they have a weak supporting cast. They have Mario Chalmers playing the PG when they need someone better. Wade and James lead the team in assists. Mike Bibby was supposed to give them that PG but he is playing behind Chalmers and not doing well when he is in. I like Eddie House but I know from his days at Arizona State he is a shooting guard despite his height. Mike Miller is having the worst shooting percentage in his career. I think they need to get James Jones back into the rotation as well.

I was hoping they would beat Portland because the Suns trail them as well as Memphis and New Orleans for a playoff spot. I think their season is over because Channing Frye is going to miss 2-3 weeks with a separated shoulder. They are currently in a tight one with Houston.

Don't pay too much attention to correct time. I recall Boston and LA last season came stumbling in their end of the regular seasons. Boston more so with a 3-7 record in their last 10 games. That said, Miami has severe depth issues but they will be better with Haslem healthy. Boston has a big 4 and a better bench. Chicago is solid with likely MVP-winner Derrick Rose.

3. It's hard to decide which team to root for/against.
Can we arrange for both of them to lose?

5. Oh, my. I don't hate them that much. They can live. I just want them to play poorly.

6. Maybe the whole they're swallowed up into keeps them captive
for the entire season, but they do live????

9. Good plan. Let's replace "earthquake" with "sink hole".
We'll release them after the playoffs.

7. They're going to make the playoffs regardless, right?
And the season will start anew. I wouldn't bury them yet.

8. Yeah, the season starts anew, but the Heat ending the season with a first
round series loss against the sixth seeded NY Knicks would be priceless!

10. :(
One of the more enjoyable games to watch. Didn't want to see another repeat of Christmas and certainly didn't want to see The Big 3 go at it alone against the Lakers deep roster. In '08 and '10 everyone wanted Lakers Celtics and got it, now I'm thinking Heat Lakers is more anticipated.

15. Must be nice to have a playoff spot clinched
Edited on Tue Mar-15-11 06:16 AM by JonLP24
I've been losing my head rooting for the Suns past couple of weeks. They had a nice road trip than Channing Frye, then Nash got injured. I put their odds of making the playoffs around 15%(I'm being generous here) but I will be rooting hard for them. :)

16. Is Michael Wilbon a couch potato expert?
Cause he has the Heat losing to the Knicks in round 1 which would be the funniest thing ever! So now the Heat are what one game under .500 against playoff teams? Even a broken clock is right twice aday.

I could care less what the Heat has done in regular season..... I only care what they do wrapping up the season and in the playoffs.

18. Miami Heat gets big payback against Spurs (3rd W in a row)
<snip>

"The Heat defeated the Spurs 110-80 on Monday night at AmericanAirlines Arena, avenging its embarrassing 30-point defeat just 10 days earlier. The two games couldn’t have been more different save the fact the Heat was playing the second half of a back-to-back the first time around and the Spurs were the road-weary team on Monday."
