The ten heaviest baseball players of all time..
1 Walter Young-320
2 Jonathan Broxton-295
3 Jumbo Brown-295
4 Brad Eldred-290
5 Jon Rauch-290
6 CC Sabathia-290
7 Adam Dunn-285
8 Jeff Fulchino-285
9 Chad Paronto-285
10 Calvin Pickering-283

http://www.splashingpumpkins.com/2011/03/jonathan-broxton-second-heaviest-player.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+SplashingPumpkins+%28Splashing+Pumpkins%29

These figures are good from 1901-2010. Notice the hated Dodgers fat failure Jonathon Broxton is #2 on the list...weighing in at a lean 295. Notice also, that of the top ten, everybody but Jumbo Brown is either a current player or has played in the last decade..

No Giants, though Pablo was reportedly in the 270 or so range before he lost 38 lbs during this past offseason..

13. He's heavy, but not tall for a baseball player
He's either 5'9 or 5'10, so he likely is in the 250-270 range at best.

7. There's a reason why people I know call Sabbathia..
Captain Cheeseburger.....I did not realize Adam Dunn was that big...He's never struck me as fat..just as a very big, muscular guy.I wonder if shedding weight would improve his gawd awful defensive skills

15. CCS lost weight
Edited on Thu Mar-17-11 03:46 PM by road2000
I heard CC Sabathia say he's now down to his official weight -- so he was probably around 315-320 in recent years.

Wonder where Joba stands right now?

10. I think he's 6'11"
That's probably a big factor, because he's not an "out-of-shape" guy.

12. Are any of these guys in Cooperstown?
Also, who had more stolen bases: Ricky Henderson or all ten of the named players put together?
