I am a Vikings fan, but no way in hell am I going to claim they won this game. The Lions lost it. Sorry Lions fans, your team clearly displayed the determination necessary to win it, but my Vikes lucked out.

Even if my two favorite teams are the Packers and the Not-Vikings, I thought it was a pretty exciting game regardless of who won. But I have to agree, the Vikings didn't the greatest. Then again the Packers aren't doing much better.

2. I think Packers and Vikings fans can agree: |

Whichever one of us makes the playoffs (although we could very well both), we will be severely outgunned by the two real contenders - Philly and Atlanta.

Philly and Atlanta will get "byes" the first week, so GB and MN will both go up against the other two non divisional winners. The winner of the North division will host the first playoff game. I wonder if it's possible for both GB and MN to host a first round game?

If both GB and MN make the playoffs, one of them will be the division winner and the other will be a wildcard. With the new 4-division conferences, no wildcard teams will host a first round game.

The one thing Lions fans have been able to consistently count on during these awful years is Jason Hanson making all his extra point kicks and most of his field goals. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw what happened. I swear, the Lions are cursed.
But I was happy to see Joey Harrington step up and have a good game. And the lateral between Az Hakim and Sean Bryson was pretty fun to watch too.

5. What's the scoop with their long snapper? |
|
Is he a rookie? Is your regular snapper injured or something? I missed the end of the game if they explained that because when the Lions scored I turned off the TV thinking, "Dammit the Vikes just blew another one!" :)

7. The snapper is a rookie and he took over about 1 month ago |
|
I think it was because of an injury. I don't really think the snap was that bad. I think the holder should have been able to handle that one. The Lion's kicking game is nearly automatic, so mistakes like this are rare.

8. How did the Lions "lose it"? |
|
Even if they had made the extra point, it would have only tied it. Then it would have went to overtime. They couldn't stop us, anymore than we could stop them. If we win the coin-toss in overtime, we probably win. So how did they "lose it"? At best, by making the extra point, they would have given themselves a 50-50 chance of winning, based on who won the coin-toss in overtime. But we would have had the same 50-50 chance. And yes, the final score said that we won it - we didn't screw up any extra points, and because of that, we won. Nothing is a gimme in football. Hell, as Vikings fans, we ought to know that better than anybody!

9. As Vikings fans, we also tend to be pessimistic! |

LOL, I understand all your points and am reminded of the Buffalo game a couple of years back when our kicker missed 2 XPAs and a FG that, if made, would have won the game for us.
But seriously, considering how Harrington had led not one, but TWO long scoring drives, almost effortlessly, I think our chances of stopping them in overtime would have been slim. Our defense was tired, and without Winfield, easily drops to one of the worst in the league.

...quarterback look like the next coming of Johnny Unitas. We just have to outscore people, and hope we have the ball at the end - that is of course, as long as Tice doesn't let is OC call a WR option pass on the opponents 20 yard line with 2 minutes to go!!! :grr:
We're the modern version of those late 70's to early 80's Charger teams. All offense, no defense, and hope we have the ball last.
On edit: Forgot to add, lets go melt some cheese on Friday!! :kick:
