1. If you're a 1996 grad, then I might have met you. :) |
|
I went to VCU's campus for the Virginia High School League (VHSL) awards that year; I was an editor of my school's literary magazine, and we won an award. We got a nice campus tour, got to eat lunch at some of the great little dives downtown, and generally had a great time watching the students and hanging out on campus. :)

15. VHSL back in the day. |
|
My son's a rising senior at VCU and he'd better pick me up a t-shirt before next weekend (I imagine the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight designs will be on clearance :D ).
He, too, went to those VHSL conferences but ~ 10 years after you did, Lyric. The kids even had lunch at the Jefferson on one trip (and weren't impressed -- they preferred the downtown dives!)

3. Congrats. Great upset. |

This Spartan wishes we were back yet again. Cinderella vs. Cinderella next Saturday, and all four #1 seeds out. Got to see when that last happened.

Why didn't the people who rank teams know that?

10. I think they did a poor job of the rankings this year. |
|
Of course, upsets happen.
That was a very good game. VCU deserved to win.
My husband is just all upset because he is so anal about his precious brackets. I did not do any of that this year, so I am just watching and enjoying.
I did tell him to pick Butler and Arizona. I was right about Butler.

11. A lot of people criticized the people who select the teams |
|
for putting VCU in there. If experts such as Jay Bilas had their way, VCU wouldn't be in there.

9. I don't love it, but that was a classic choke. Not very typical for KU. |

13. Not a choke. They got outplayed and outcoached. |
|
VCU survived the drought around the half's but other than that they took KU apart. For crying out loud Morningstar was their only hope.... hahaha that don't play in Richmond honey.
LOVE IT

18. Just like Georgetown and Fla. State and, of course, KANSAS |
|
We'll see. They are playing at the level that is not strange for a team as good and versatile as they are. They have to avoid the scoring droughts. Other than that they are deeper than any of the remaining teams and are a nightmare to defend and to play offense against.
