Sad day for America: The Yankees beat the Tigers. But we will get through this.

This afternoon, America suffered a devastating setback. Actually, two devastating setbacks.

First, the New York Yankees won.

Second, the Detroit Tigers lost.

There should be no doubt that this is a terrible day for our nation. However, I am confident we will get through this.

1. So I spent my lunch hour in the gym (west coast time)

and watched the last four innings, which of course were the worst four innings of the game, but that's irrelevant. Anyway, I find a treadmill, change the TV to the game, and I'm staring directly at the TV while working out, wearing a Detroit Tigers shirt - very obviously, it's got a giant gothic D with a Tiger coming out of it.

Two people came by and said, "are you watching the game?"
