1. I guess Pat Summit was right about Notre Dame....
They are a team on a mission. They looked like that against Oklahoma, Tenn and now UCONN.

I figured if ND could get Stephanie Dolson in foul trouble and keep D. Peters out of foul trouble the Irish could successfully attack the Husky middle and that is what happened.

I also have to say that those Irish women are tough! Who was it... Novosol?... who played with an injured shoulder? I wonder if she got a shot of cortisone in her shoulder after the game. Heard she played the 2nd half basically with 1 arm.

I also salute Texax A&M. I didn't think they could beat Stanford, but they never gave up. It was an exciting game. During those last few seconds of the game, you couldn't blink your eyes else you missed the great plays.

It should be an interesting Championship game.

Question: do the upsets of Stanford and UCONN herald a new wave of evolution in women's collegiate basketball?

2. In answer to your last question....maybe not...
There is more parity these days, which is good, but there was a downside for both UCONN and TN in 2005-2006, but then they both came back...I wouldn't read too much into all this...I know ND is a young team, know nothing about A&M but that was an exciting game.

looks like they blew it there at the end, and with it a golden opportunity to win their first championship in almost 20 years..Well, congratulations to Texas A&M anyway.

4.  Natalie Novosel, starting for Notre Dame
is another Final 4 star from Lexington. UK Mens & Women's basketball should maybe recruit across town.

Shelvin Mack would have looked good in blue.
