BREAKING: Actually, not so breaking. Oh well.
Edited on Mon Apr-25-11 05:59 PM by madinmaryland
A federal judge ruled in favor of NFL players on Monday, issuing an injunction that ordered the league's owners to lift their lockout.

Although the owners are expected to appeal the ruling, Monday's decision "could force the league to open immediately," NFL.com reported.

A lockout was imposed after talks on collective bargaining between the players and owners broke down last month.

1. "If (the) ruling stands...
it is still unclear exactly what happens next. The collective bargaining agreement has expired, so how the league would handle free agency, trades and offseason workouts at team headquarters, all of which were banned under the lockout, remains to be seen."

2. If everyone continues to sit around waiting for court decisions, there will
not be a 2011 season.

3. Yes -- especially if the NFL says it will appeal
You can be sure they're in no hurry to see practice start only to see it cancelled due to actions on their part. It would be a huge P.R. debacle for owners.
