There Are Two Teams In the National League East....
One team has scored 281 runs this year.

The other, 295.

One team has given up 286 runs this year.

The other, 297.

One team is 40-29.

The other, 33-36.

Would you believe the team that's given up 15 more runs that it has scored is the 40-29 team?

The Washington Nationals.

And the team that's given up just two more runs that it has scored (the New York Mets) is 33-36.

That's how fucked-up the National League East is.

1. Ouch!
I know.

I became a Mets fan when the Senators became the Rangers. Now I live in Washington and there are Nats in my division. I'll wear my Mookie shirt and SENATORs hat to a game.

2. That's why they play the whole season.
If those run averages continue, the Nationals will be well below .500 by the end, while the Mets will be close to .500.

5. All the Nats needed was some love.
Evidently, the guys are still just dumbstruck about playing in front of large, appreciative crowds. Something they never experienced in Montreal.

It's about love.
