Many people talk about basketball's image and claim that it has a bad image. Those people use the fight at the beginning of the year as an example of the bad image. However, people fell to mention the others sports where fights like this are an every day occurance. Dugout clearing fights are mainly an everyday occuarnce in baseball, but noone makes a big deal about the fights in baseball. Fights happen often in hockey. I have heard a number of hockey fans say they go to the games just to see the players fight. Once again noone makes a big deal about the fights in hockey. Why is it that people claim that basketball has a bad image, but do not say the same thing about other sports like hockey and baseball. For anyone who would say it is because of what the players do off the court I would say that the athletes in other sports get into drunk driving accidents, beat up people, and do other bad things. So why the image problem for basketball, but not for other sports like baseball and hockey.

1. The problem is the arrest record. |

Here, in Washington, the Wizards have an arrest record that's longer than the Redskins, Caps, United and Nats combined.
Then there was the time that Juwan Howard, Chris Webber and another player skipped the autograph session for season ticket holders.
But you had the cops getting called to parties at Howard's house at 4am when they were in a playoff chase, Webber getting pulled over at 10am while high and drunk, etc.
Sean Taylor is trying to get the Redskins in competition for this dubious title.
