Bucks fire Porter; Portland Interested?
KOIN 6 in Portland, Ed Whelan speculated Portland
is interested in Porter as their new head coach.

Another former player to try to coach these head
cases?

Milwaukee Bucks Fire Coach Terry Porter
By JULIET WILLIAMS, Associated Press Writer

Wednesday, June 22, 2005
(06-22) 16:36 PDT ST. FRANCIS, Wis. (AP) --

The Milwaukee Bucks fired head coach Terry Porter on Wednesday, two months after finishing their worst season in almost a decade.

The Bucks have the first pick in next week's NBA draft, and general manager Larry Harris said the team needs to take a new direction.

"Certainly for the direction of this franchise heading forward, we certainly need to make a move," Harris said.

Plagued with injuries and a revolving roster, the Bucks went 30-52 last season and failed to make the playoffs in Porter's second year with the team.

1. At least Porter has respect in this town, which they need!
I've given up on the Blazers until they get rid of the entire team. They are a bunch of thugs!

I've always had a crush on Clyde, though!

:hi:

We didn't know how good we had it. Upstanding
citizens, every one of them. (Except Cliff, who
was young then.)

I had heard that Adelman could be convinced to
come back.

That's where my heart is I think. Hiring Adelman
as head coach and Terry as an assistant would be
brilliant.

3. They'd be stupid not to.
Which is an answer in itself.

5. bad move harris
i would've given Porter at least one more year, especially with the #1 draft pick on the way.

what the hell do you expect him to do with the talent he had to work with?

there are some really good players on the Bucks, but they don't have anyone they can build a team around. Michael Redd is very very good, but he's not great. you can't win games with just a very very good player.

6. Word from local sports guy --
(Dwight Jaynes) -- Portland doesn't really want Porter,
and even if they did, stay way, Terry, stay away.

Makes sense to me.
