Kind of torn on who to cheer for... I'm a Braves fan and I have no love for the Mets... but the Yankees are Universally hated....
The Yankees defeated the Braves in Two World Series in the Ninties...
It's settle... GO METS!

I'm switching between the game and a Ben Affleck movie I really shouldn't watch-except that Samuel L. Jackson is in it.

I'm guessing the movie. . . since when you said Affleck and Jackson that was the first one to pop in my head.
Been half-paying attention to the game.. but the Mets still have a 1-0 lead... so here's hoping they finish it.

Affleck may annoy you but the seventh inning so far must be enjoyable :).

I hope Baltimore sweeps them this week too, even though Baltimore is closer to the Sox in the standings. I would laugh so hard if the $200,000,000+ Yankees didn't make the playoffs.

14. yeah, but they didn't deserve to . . . |
|
not the way they played the field . . . or hit, for that matter . . . A-Rod's double in the ninth was their first extra base hit of the game . . .
they can thank Braden Looper for this win . . . and for temporarily removing Steinrenner's hatchet from over someone's neck . . .

15. so are you saying that... |

Looper's performance was a fluke for the Yankees?
I got a lot of pm's from angry Yankee's fans when I said in another thread that the come from behind win against TB was a fluke.
I was trying to be nice tonight and give credit where I thought credit was due.
Yanks did get a really bad call on first tonight with Sheffield who was clearly safe as the replay showed.
My brother who is a Yankees fan called me up after the game and was not even happy about this win tonight..said they didn't deserve it because of the way they played. He thinks that "my Damned Red Sox" passed the curse on to them last year by winning the World Series
I guess we will have to wait and see what happens this week

The world stopped spinning on its axis when the game started. Anyone else notice?
And Kathy, the Sox are my American League team. Yes, 1986 was a cruel irony.
Go Sox!
