NFL fantasy football is upon us.... |
|
...our league picks its draft order by everyone guessing what the Dow Jones Industrial Average will close at on a given date. Anywho, I've always been accurate at this, so I usually end up with the first or second draft pick. Some don't like picking too early in the draft, but I've always had success picking early. If you are doing NFL fantasy, and get the #1 or #2 pick this year in your league, who would you pick? Running backs usually go quick, thus the RB pool thins quickly. However, Manning put up phenomenal fantasy stats last year....

1. LaDainian Tomlinson at RB |

He's a consistent threat to go over 2000 total yards,is a great receiver, and isn't terribly injury-prone. But I think the real sleeper of the draft is going to be Marc Bulger. He's getting better every year and the Rams drafted Alex Barron out of Florida State to hold down the RT spot. I think that the Rams will be explosive this season.

2. Tomlinson is definetly very enticing. I'd hate to pick a QB like |

...Bulger too early in our draft. Everyone in my league is RB crazy, so RB's go quick and early. If I was to pick a QB that early, it would probably be a Manning or Culpepper. I'm not dissing Bulger at all. He has excellent receivers, and an offensive system that will always highlight his - and their - game, its just that I think I could get a Bulger or Trent Green type QB in the second or third round...

4. I'm a big fan of Culpepper |
|
But I'm also wondering if Nate Burleson is ready to take it to the next level and be a legit No. 1 WR.

6. Yeah, what the Vikings have are a slew of "good" receivers..... |
|
...not great, but good. On the other hand, Tom Brady has three rings with "good" receivers. They're not great, but they're good. Not everyone can be Randy Moss.
I'm more excited about the defensive acquisitions the Vikings have made. Culpepper is like a Marino. He can hold his own.

3. Depends on your scoring system |
|
I'd probably go with Tomlinson. But Manning would be a good choice too, even though he's a choker.

5. Scoring system is heavy on TD's, which I don't necessarily like, but... |
|
...thats the way it is. I had Manning last year, and with all those TD passes, he singlehandedly put my team in the championship game. Oh, I also had Reggie Wayne, which meant that I was doubling up on a lot of those Manning passes.

7. I'd get Wayne again if you can |
|
Harrison will be 33 this season. I think this is the year he starts to show some tread on those tires.
