Yanks v. Sox tonite . . .

the Yankees are currently 2-1/2 games back of the Sox, which is pretty amazing given the way they played the first half . . . the second half will depend largely on whether the Bombers can get their pitching under control . . . right now they only have three legitimate starters -- and three on the DL, none of whom will likely do them much good . . . will Cashman find a way to get another quality starter? . . . stay tuned . . .

the good news is the Giambi resurgence . . . if he keeps hitting like he's been doing for the past couple of weeks, he'll help them win a lot of games . . . center field is still a problem, and that new kid doesn't look like he's up to the task . . . have to wait and see . . .

four game series starts tonight in Boston . . . Mussina opens, followed by Wang, Johnson, and who knows . . . BoSox will have Schilling as their closer, which should be interesting . . . will they do to Kevin Millar what they did to Nomar last year? . . . stay tuned . . .

got the pretzels . . . got the lemonade (gave up beer some time ago) . . . got the remote . . . I'm ready . . .

I ideally would from a stragetic POV want the Yanks to take 3 of 4, so we in B-more can regain first place then get some breathing room going in to Minnesota.

Maybe you dont remember but we did take three outta four from that same red sox team, and the pitching here is finally coming back, Bedard's abesence is why the Orioles havent been playing well, get him back, and I think theyll be on the right track, anyhow I predict this will be decided and done by the last week of the season.
