Big Ten/Penn State Football fans

PSU has SIX freshman who all run 4.4 40's or better ( I know I know no one runs faster than 4.4)inculding everything kid from MAryland (QB,RB,WR you name it) and some monster defender from Pittsburgh.

Kevin Cousins is one of them. He's from Richmond Va.

The ball should be flying around Nittany Valley like crazy in the fall.

During his junior season, Kevin, who is also an excellent student (4.2 GPA, 1,250 SAT), made 12 receptions for 283 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Co MVP in the Virginia allstar game

Cousins, a Huguenot graduate and Penn State signee, caught two touchdowns, both in the first half from Virginia Tech recruit Greg Boone of Oscar Smith.

The first was from 15 yards out as Cousins gathered the pigskin at the 10, faked right and beat several defenders to the pylon for the East's first score.

Up 14-0, Boone found Cousins streaking down the left sideline tightly guarded. The 6-3 Cousins turned his back to the defender, hauled in the pass with his right hand, broke a tackle and outraced the defense for a 21-0 lead.

1. As a PSU fan, i'm not going to hold my breath
I'm sure Joe will do something to squander this talent - play them out of position, sit them till they are juniors, or just implement the same tired, predictible game plan.

I respect the hell out of Joe, but the other Big 10 coaches have been coaching circles around him for almost 10 years now - only when he has immense talent around him can he win. THe league has caught on to how his teams play.

2. 4.2 GPA?
What is that? A++? But only a 1250 SAT?

3. He went to one of the city's upper high schools
Not the Goernor's School but the Community school-you have to apply and be selected out of the regular city high schools.

Cousins transferred back to his actual high school the senior year (already had enough credits to graduate).

I think he only took the SAT's once.

10. Hey now...
...stay off JoePa. After all, the man has more Div. I-A wins than any other coach in history. I'm not even a Big 10 fan (SEC, myself), but I'll give the guy his due.

You gotta love a guy who still keeps his players in black cleats and uniforms without names.

8. Penn State should be out of the Big 10
Seriously, they don't fit in - kick out PSU, let them join the Big East, and induce Notre Dame to come in.

9. Keep PSU
add ND, split Big 10, have championship game. Won't happen because ND wants all the $.

Another wish, have playoff system based on conference champions (or winners). Won't happen because schools want all the $.

Since everyone's in for the $ and PSU stinks, I don't follow college football much.
