1. Congrats!
The hockey gods have probably shown their wisdom and justice here. Of all teams in places where hockey really belongs, the Pens were the most in trouble. Hopefully this'll go a long ways towards reviving them.

2. Congrats to the Pens and Pittsburgh
I hope he does what Mario did to keep the Pens in Pittsburgh. The Portland Penguins just wouldn't be right.

4. Pens looking at Rafalski/Niedermayer
From Rotoworld:

The Penguins are in search of a mobile offensive blueliner and are looking carefully at Devil rearguards Brian Rafalski and Scott Niedermayer.

Niedermayer, who earned over $7 million in 2003-04, may just be too expensive for the Devils to re-sign. If New Jersey does re-commit to Niedermayer, they may not have enough money for Rafalski. Either way look for Pittsburgh to swoop in and try and sign one of these talented rearguards.

This is going to be one hell of an offseason. Rumors also say that Kariya may wish to play with Mario. Also, I thinks it's 99% a given the Pens re-sign Kovalev.

Pens only have 21M out of a 39M cap tied up...they can come all the way back in one year.

5. I think there's 28 other teams that would like to sign Niedermeyer
He could really go anywhere.

(He's a good team player and not an overpriced prima donna, so I'm assuming the Rangers aren't interested)

8. Islanders
Look for them to make a play for Neidermeyer.

Their defensive corps is in tatters. Looks like Jonson is finishing his carreer in Sweden.

Im thinking they sign Neidermeyer and Kasparaitis.

3. HOLY MOLEY!!!!!!! It's freakin' CHRISTMAS in July!!!!!!!!!
The hockey Gods are smiling down on the Pens...awesome news!

The talking heads were saying they would have liked to see Crosby go to a major market team like New York, Philadelphia, etc. They can go to hell.

9. Your team in part is to thank for that.
They tanked so badly going after Lemieux it was just a matter of time before a lottery was installed.

Malkin was a hell of a consolation prise.
