2. And here I am, watching National Geographic...
Sounds like the real wildlife show's on ABC tonight. Why can't these athletes realize that they're role models whether they want to be or not?

4. Well...
Kevin Mathis threw the first punch - but Jeremiah Trotter was still ejected along with Mathis even though he never threw a punch himself and his actions were all out of self-defense. Then a few minutes later as Atlanta was headed back to the locker rooms, a bunch of the Eagles went to the 50-yard-line to just get rialed up as a team, and I guess Atlanta thought they were being deliberately disrespectful and they all ran back to the field and some more pushing and shoving broke out.

It sucks, because without Trotter it really allowed Atlanta to run the ball. That, and McNabb got nailed in the chest on one of the first plays, so he was off and throwing like shit.

No matter though - it's the first game of the season and we'll be back!

Trotter is cheap shot artist who finally got what was coming.

6. I don't agree with you, there.
I can think of many other players who are WAY, WAY worse than Trotter.

And most importantly, it doesn't matter who has made cheap shots in the past. Referees are supposed to make calls based on the present and not what happened last season or whatever.

7. its not fair
but Trotter has gotten away with a ton of cheap shots over the years. He's a dirty player as is Dawkins.

8. Why are they dirty players?
Because they play good football and win?

I mean, tell me a few people who are totally clean players who are above being a little dirty when they're trying to win.

It's football, not croquet.

9. They play beyond the rules
cheap shotting punters, late hits on QB out of bounds, leading with their helmets. I didn't say all Eagles. I said these two players. Sometimes those chickens come home to roost.

Name one player in the NFL who hasn't been guilty more than once of "playing beyond the rules." Every player does it or has done it. Every single one.

Also, you must not mean Dawkins and Trotter "cheap shot punters" because they're not on special teams.

14. Trotter
cheap shotted Jeff Feagles last year. So he was on specials that day.

Name one player who has not been guilty of playing a little rough or a little dirty in a game. Every single player does it or has done it. You point to one instance where Trotter supposedly "cheap shotted" Jeff Feagles. I don't know about that, but I can name about 4 cheap shots Falcons p layers took on Eagles on Monday.

My point is that yes Trotter has been guilty of playing dirty on one or maybe even two or three occasions. But guess what? SO has EVERY single other player in the NFL. Every single one. And many players are WAY worse than him, to to make the absurd argument that he is somehow "exceptionally rough" is ludicrous. You cannot name one player who has never, ever made a cheap shot or played dirty. If I felt so inclined (which I don't), I would look up every player in the NFL and find you at least one time they made a cheap shot at another player.

Don't hate on them just because they're good players and we're a good team.

17. I've hated Trotter for years
when he was an Eagle and a Redskin. It has nothing to do with the team. He's a cheap shot artist as is Dawkins. They are exceptionally dirty players. YOu can be a great middle linebacker and not be dirty. Takeo Spikes for instance.

20. Well that much is clear.
They are nowhere near exceptionally dirty players. How you can compare someone like Romanowski and Ray Lewis and lump them in the same category as Trotter and Dawkins is a little...well, nutty.

I must not be making my point clearly enough that yes, Trotter and Dawkins have done dirty tricks before, but so has EVERY football player. It's part of the game sometimes. But to actually suggest that Trotter and Dawkins are "exceptionally" dirty (when you look at the entire league) is just absurd.

22. Ray Lewis is a criminal in real life
but he's not a dirty player on the field. Not nearly as dirty as Trotter. But Eagle fans tend to think anything goes. That's why they need a court underneath the stadium.

23. Ok, ok, I get it.
Your beef is with the Eagles in general which is why you think Trotter is somehow as bad as real-life criminal NFL players or players who make a habit of spitting in other players' faces. :eyes: It all makes sense now.

I give up on this conversation since you refuse to name me at least one player who hasn't been guilty of doing something someone considers "dirty."

If you think being an aggressive player is playing dirty, I suggest you stop following football.

25. I thought I did mention some players
Urlacher of the Bears is a hard nosed clean player. Same for Takeo Spikes. Antonio Pierce. Jevon Kearse on your Eagles. Many others. Trotter and Dawkins are dirty.

What about the hit on McNabb last night? That was leading with his helmet.

I'm not saying that Dawkins and Trotter are saints, but I definitely do not feel they are exceptionally dirty players - certainly no moreso than anyone else. When I think of dirty players I think of Bill Romanowski and the like.

18. Not talking about spitting
talking about cheap shots, leading with the helmet and hitting people out of the play and when the play is over. These guys are dirty players even if they play for your team.

19. Yes, you were. You said they were on R's plane.
And Romanowski used to spit in people's faces regularly and do WAY more dirty tricks than Trotter or Dawkins.

There's a fine line between being an aggressive, good player who does what it takes to win and being a dirty player. You're just wrong if you think Trotter and Dawkins fall into that camp when compared to others. Of course they have done dirty things before. My point is that ALL NFL players have at one point or another, and because of that Trotter and Dawkins are not exceptionally dirty by any stretch of imagination...except maybe yours.

21. Dawkins
has the fines to prove how dirty he is. The hit on Ike Hilliard in 2002 was one of the dirtiest plays I've ever seen. Trotter's cheap shot on Feagles last year was beyond the pale.

24. Still waiting for one player who has never been accused of playing dirty..
Yeah, and Dawkins is the *only* player with fines, right? Come on...seriously. What do you call the shot on McNabb Monday night when he got speared? I guess that wasn't a big deal to you.

Your problems are clearly with the Eagles in general, which is why you keep making absurd parallels between a good player like Dawkins or Trotter and someone like R. who spits in people's faces.

Still waiting for you to name one player who has never been accused of "playing dirty"....

Like I said, apparently you think playing aggressive football is "dirty" so I'd suggest you stick with baseball then if you can't handle it. So, it seems your problem is that the Eagles are a good team...so I'll leave it at that.
