Oh for God's sakes, Orioles!!! |
|
The Indians really could use some help from the Orioles and all they do is roll over and play dead against the Yankees!!!! :grr:
Do the Orioles not have any pride left? Would they not feel good to play spoiler, especially against the Yankees??
Why is it that when the Indians play a doormat (Royals), they get a fight, but when the Yankees play a doormat (Orioles), they get free wins??
The Indians go on a tear in the last couple weeks, but they can't get any help from anybody!! :grr:
Well, at least the Tigers helped the Tribe a little bit tonight. I am worried about Tampa. They may have a lousy record, but they play tough against the Indians. They swept a 3 game series at Jacobs Field in August.

2. Will that mess up the Red Sox rotation? |
|
Will Boston have to throw in a AAA pitcher to fill in? I don't see why not. Tonight's starter will just have an extra day of rest (with some tosses from tonight's warm up, I'm sure) and the rest will proceed as planned.
Between the White Sox, Indians, Yankees, and Red Sox...one of those teams has to go home for October. If there's any justice, that team would be the Yankees, but given how much Cleveland has taken on the chin (it is the #1 Most Tortured Sports City by ESPN), I would not be shocked if the Indians are the odd one out.

3. Schilling will pitch the second game |
|
Edited on Tue Sep-27-05 07:34 AM by MaineDem
He was scheduled to go last night. Wakefield will start in the afternoon game. It shouldn't change the rotation after that. I think Schilling and Randy Johnson are due to both start the Saturday game. Now THAT could be a decisive game.
On edit: The Schilling-Johnson showdown is off. Wakefield will go against Johnson on Saturday and Schilling will go Sunday vs. Mussina.

Really no biggie for Wakefield. A knuckleball pitcher could probably pitch every day if he had to.

4. There's an article about this in NY Daily News today |
|
When a New York sportswriter is bitching about a team laying down, you know it's bad.

6. Yanks had 2 one run games vs the O's last week |
|
Hell, you just never know. Earlier this year the Royals swept 3 from the Yanks and the Yanks lost the season series to the Devil Rays.

7. I really hope that the yanks sweep baltimore |
|
and that boston loses at least one game to toronto (yanks would only have to win one at fenway to send a tie breaker to new york..... it would be fun to end it at home)

8. Going to be tough for both teams to sweep |
|
I don't see the Yanks losing more than 1 game to the Orioles but I can see the Jays winning 2 from the Sox, especially if the doubleheader games today are both close and the Sox are forced to use up their pen.

10. I think NY could sweep |
|
baltimore is reaalllllllyyyyyy bad right now
toronto is like the devil rays to boston, not a great team, but for some reason they have a hard time with them. boston is very clutch though, they might eek out a sweep too.they are already winning the first game.

the orioles stood up and played like the 1927 yankees against boston either.
the orioles are a team that is just counting the days till the season ends. and it isnt like the bosox are playing a monster team in the blue jays.
not being able to pitch schilling (the right wing bastard that he is) until sunday could hurt as that game could very well be meaningless.
peace

the first half of the season, Baltimore kicked ass all over the place. Ptiching, hittng, defense, bullpen, everything. After the All Star break, it went to hell in ahandbasket and Palmeiro's roid needle. Leo got canned, Sammy never got on track, and then Roidgate exploded. Right nowThe Os are ebating my Yankees, but let's see how NY responds...
