4. Damn
I was there. I thought we had it after Peko's 80 yard fumble recovery for a TD. That game was the biggest kick in the balls. We blew it.

6. I'm still not impressed with Michigan
In every meaningful game they are more than willing to surrender plenty of points. The mindset to shut someone down below 20 just isn't there. Big deal, they won in OT. Giving up 31 points in a game like this is what ruins Michigan year after year, at least since '98.

7. State fan by chance?
Michigan lost two close games, without their star player. They haven't been out of a game all season. Yes, there have been mistakes but it's not as though there isn't talent on this team.

State won big over three bad teams, gave up a huge lead in the ND game, and had to pull out the win in overtime. Sure their offense has some razzle dazzle but what matters is winning the big ones and they didn't get the job done this time. Why blame Michigan? State made the mistakes that cost them the game.

I am proud to be a Michigan fan and graduate and I never take out my disappointment, when we don't win, on the other team. And I've had plenty of opportunities since I grew up right next to East Lansing.

Go blue!

11. they have Hart in South Bend and Madison
Edited on Sun Oct-02-05 12:23 PM by northzax
and they're top three still, and Hart is being dicsussed for the little bronze statue.

It is a shame they can't play defense though. yesterday was sweet, however.

12. Very tough loss. I feel bad for the State fans
as I'm sure they felt just terribly for me when Spartan Bob jobbed the clock a couple of years ago, right? Or the time Desmond had his feet yanked out of him going for two points, and the ref (by his own admission, I might add) blew the call?

But don't hate the schoool! The school of affirmative action, that sued the Bush administration?

18. I'm going by the posts that were posted RIGHT here
by Angry White Democrat. They may have merely been threatened with arrest, but nevertheless, why did they even have * at their commencement to begin with? IIRC, UM had an environmentalist speaking that year.

20. Well I get tired of the Michigan bashing, okay?
It's a good progressive school, with a Democrat as head football coach, I might add, and we've only won two national championships since 1948, so it's not like anyone can say we've dominated the football landscape. I want to beat OSU and Michigan State, but I don't hate either school. I liked when rivalries were friendlier. For the record, I happen to know that the President of the University and the head of the Alumni Association are liberals, too.

21. You get tired of MICHIGAN bashing???
Were you not around this last year? All i heard was "stupid ohio hicks who lost the election" and everyone on this board was rooting against my school (which, by the way, voted overwhelmingly against bush, as did Columbus). To me, politics are not everything. I dont know if tress is liberal or not, and i dont care. i don't want michigan players to DIE or anything, but i am a student, and they are a hated rival. it's just the way college rivalries work, or at least this one. and saying "michigan's liberal, michigan's liberal" over and over again doesnt make me think its a better school than mine, so i dont know where you're going with that.

i'm going to not reply anymore, because i don't hate you or anything, and i dont want this to degenerate anymore than it already has. just understand that when i say i hate michigan, it's an expression, and leaping on people for what started out as (on my part, at least) just a simple ribbing is a little extreme

22. amazing, isn't it?
how much the buckeyes hate Michigan? and it's not reciprocated in the same way. The problem is that OSU has no other natural rivals, so for them it's enhanced. Michigan has Michigan State and Notre Dame to compete for attention, OSU has no one, so everything is focused on beating UM. no Michigan coach has ever been fired for not beating OSU, after all.

maybe if the buckeyes didn't have quite such an inferiority complex, this wouldn't be such an issue? ( sorry, had to get the dig in)

24. FYI...Tressel is a Republican
But that doesn't stop me from cheering for the Buckeyes. As you said, not everything is political. While it can add fuel to the fire, it should never be the primary or sole criteria on who to love/hate in a college rivalry.
