Patriots Bounce Back to Beat Falcons 31-28

So there is some hope in New England, even as the Red Sox pack it in for the Winter.

There's at least a thimble of joy in Mudville this October Sunday. The football season has a long way to go.

2. I wouldnt get too excited if I were you.
The Patriots BARELY eeked that win out today even without Vick playing. Plus, your fame against Pittsburgh was the same story. Barely a win. Still a win, but by the skin of your teeth. Not to mention the fact you are 3 and 2. That gives you only one solid win in 5 games. That's hardly cause for celebration. The Patriots this year are not the Patriots of previous years. Frankly I'd be shocked if they even made it to the playoffs.

4. Winning at Pittsburgh and at Atlanta is damn impressive
Those are final four teams from last year, and almost never lose at home. Every team gets jacked up to play the team with 3 rings in 4 years, especially at home.

Talent margins in the NFL are incredibly slight. Any win is reason for celebration. NE lost the starting left tackle and the enforcer in its secondary. Those are big losses, IMO worse than injuries in recent years.

As a Dolphin fan this may sound odd, but I'm rooting for New England against the Colts in two weeks. Preserving the standalone unbeaten season is paramount. Miami isn't going anywhere this year.

5. Sure but they also lost to two mediocre teams. And badly.
Ther wins have not been anywhere near as decisive as their losses. They got massacred last week (who was it? San Diego or something?). It was almost pathetic for them. They are very inconsistent and unlike the team they were last year. Plus the wins they have they are either chasing the other team the entire game or the other team is chasing them. As I said their losses have been by much more than their wins. I'd be very surprised if they make the Super Bowl again.

3. Expected
Well, I do think that Patriots still have what it takes even though their roster is depleted with injuries. As of Red Sox, never liked them anyway...
