1. tsk, tsk, ... boo hoo.......
My White Sox are waiting for either of those sorry teams. As Ralph Cramden would say about the Yankees or Angels:

They're nothing but "a mere bag of shells"

Bwahahaha bring'em on!!

2. Pray for the Angels
They have no pitching staff left.

Not that it will prevent them from beating the Yankees tonight, what with their stupid fielding, hitting and base-running tricks.

6. That was another of those base-running tricks
just now, right?

R. Cano making the third out on a strikeout-passed ball-called-out-for-running-out-of-the-lane ?

Listen, I want everyone to be clear that I am NOT a Yankee hater.

But this shit is just too damn funny to believe.

Sunday doubleheaders at old Comiskey Park. Me and Bernie S. got there in time for batting practice, stayed until last out of second game. Then went directly to play "fast pitch" or "pinners" in the schoolyard. Went home when it got too dark to see the ball. Minnie Minoso, Luis Aparicio, Nellie Fox, Jungle Jim Rivera, Sherman Lollar (slowest man on the planet!) just off the top of my head.

Yep, I remember, thanks for reminding me. I'll be watching tonight.

5. "Rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for U.S. Steel"
as Pete Hamill said in his column today in the New York Daily News. He was referring to the Brooklyn Dodger/Yankee world series of 1955, which the Dodgers finally won. Maybe today it would be like rooting for Halliburton.

7. not good comparison
he said that because at the time US steel always went up and was boring to watch. not because it was an evil company like haliburton.

12. Good bye Yankees
and good riddance. Yes, I am a Yankee hater and always will be. And I'm glad the Red Sox are gone as well. Midwest baseball is best! Maybe the east coast biased sports media will finally figure this out, but I somehow doubt it.

17. They probably won't
I remember when the Twins hosted the ALCS a few year ago. They talked about NOTHING else but how much the Meterodome stinks and every other to third comment was how Minnesota did not deserve to be there. It was of course Faux Sports. They were quite happy to see the Angels go on that year.

15. this was not a good day for me
as just about everyone at work stopped by to express their sorrow about the Yankees losing last night. ;argh: It was a total meltdown! Mussina was not in charge like he was in Game 1, the collision in the outfield really made me want to throw something at my tv, and then A-fraud...and Matsui BOTH not hitting when the game was on the line :argh: I feel A-fraud should apologize for playing like a dog! :grr:

Now that George sees that spending 200 million doesn't guarantee jack shit, perhaps he'll start getting rid of the dead weight--the 3 young pitchers Chacon, Small, and Wang were proof that you don't need to blow mega millions for wins. So bye-bye Kevin Brown (total bust) Brian Cashman (he's the jackass who went after A-fraud in the first place) Bernie (he just can't do it anymore) Big Unit doesn't fit in New York, not as a cranky 40 something pitcher who hates the fans..I'll cheer for the Angels, as they actually know how to play ball.
