1. Looks like a knee.
I hope he's okay, too.

2. I'm not sure how they treat hyperextension...
But that's what it looked like to me. Hopefully he didn't tear anything...it looked so painful.

3. Knee injuries always look painful.
And they are, too! Take it from me. :)

That said, they didn't look too concerned on the sideline, which is a good sign. So it's probably something minor.

4. My Mom had a similar knee injury...
Edited on Mon Oct-10-05 11:54 PM by friesianrider
When she fell off a horse and landed wrong. She tore a lot of stuff in her knee and had to have surgery (was on crutches for weeks) and rehab...it was the first thing I thought of when I saw the replay. Ouch.

I agree they seemed pretty comfortable on the sidelines, and they didn't take him back before the end of the game so probably (hopefully) just some rest will do the trick. Great, great game though (guess I can go to bed now lol) :)

6. That's what the MRI is for
I've had a couple of knee injuries myself. With this kind of injury the time he'll be 'out' depends on exactly what happened. They need the MRI to find out whether or not he tore anything, like your mother, or not.

If nothing tore it could be a relatively quick recovery. If he tore stuff....could be significant.

I'd be kinda surprised if he plays next week.

I don't like the Steelers, but Big Ben is tough as frickin' nails.

12. Pats fans hate everything and everyone but the Pats...
Nasty bunch they are, too. They make us Eagles fans look like model citizens. And with the way they've been playing lately, I'm really not sure why.

I'm SO rooting for a PA Super Bowl...but that's just me ;)

"You've been listening to Will Pitt too much."

Truer words have never been spoken. It's like trying to have a rational debate with a Republican - there's just no point in arguing with someone who is so totally illogical, irrational, and disillusioned. Some people just need a good :spank:.

And yes, I loooove my Iggles, Arkana! Always have, always will. Whether they win or lose, they will always have my support and I'm proud of them. :)

Why do I get the feeling you don't have too much female companionship in your life?

Just sayin'. :hi:

8. From the Steelers' website ...
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had an MRI on his knee on Tuesday morning after the team returned from San Diego and the results were the same as what the team heard following the game.

Roethlisberger has a hyperextended knee and a bone bruise and has not been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Heinz Field.

“We’ll see how the week progresses,” said head coach Bill Cowher. “I think we all have a deep sigh of relief in regards to the prognosis.”

...

“The dire situation we thought coming in this morning doesn’t appear that right now.”

10. A whole lot of Steeler fans including me are breathing a sigh
of relief.

Hey, any of you remember the hits Bradshaw would take? He'd be down on the ground writhing in pain. Carted off on stretcher, then bam, 2nd half back in the game.

Except for the time Turkey Jones tried to use him for a corkscrew, old Brad didn't miss too much action.

Big Ben reminds me of Bradshaw back then. But Big Ben IMHO is playing a whole ton better early in his career.

11. Thank goodness!
It looked like a rough hit, but I'm sure everyone is breathing a sigh of relief. Hopefully he'll be back in no time with some rest!

Pittsburgh is looking awesomely good this year - you Steeler fans better might be smart to prepare for Detroit! (I of course am an Eagles fan but would looooove to see two PA teams in the Super Bowl!)

Glad it sounds like he'll be ok :)
