Angels' fans, move on... don't let this be your "Bartman" |
|
Was it a bad call? Yes. Should the umpire made a cleaner signal? Sure. Should the catcher have tagged him out anyway before running off the field? You bet.
Baseball is a game of judgment calls. The umpire will usually make a few bad calls along with many, many good ones. It is the players job to overcome those bad calls and win the game. It is not like the Angels lost because of a bad call, they lost because they gave a up double in the bottom of the ninth. Cubs fans didn't lose because Bartman grabbed the ball. They lost because they couldn't hold the lead. Same with the Red Sox and Bill Buckner. Fans need to move on and focus on winning the series.

earlier in the season for his helmet to helmet contact with the Braves' catcher, so it all works out, doesn't it?
If it had been FOOTBALL, he would have had to sit out a few games.
Edited for typo
