We took in quite a bit of evacuees in the town that I work in. Don't know the exact number but I feel it is quite impressive considering I live in CT and thats's many, many miles from NOLA and the Gulf Coast.

The reason I said I thought this post was funny was because I was picturing someone reading the OP message aloud and getting really angry, which is reasonable.

Kind of like Peter Finch's "I'm mad as hell...speech in Network.
I don't think it's funny that NOLA and the Gulf were ruined by a hurricane or that San Antonio is trying to steal the Saints away.

But in my crazy mind, I got a laugh because I was thinking about someone reading this a loud...get it...It's hard to explain.

San Antonio did not do anything wrong... ONE individual did ! (their mayor). I agree that the citizens of S.A. should raise hell with their mayor, but to trash a town is unfair..
According to my cousin, San Antonio was THE most responsive city in the country with regard to taking in evacuees and giving the most money, food, clothing, and supplies.
I sympathize with your feelings, but lashing out at a city is really prejudiced thinking. (It's the same as someone saying they wish the town YOU live in would die a slow and painful death because there was an evil man living there !!)

relevance to stealing a money maker from another city? Please share with me the logic of taking advantage of another city's pain. I'd be more than happy to spread your answer throughout the region. San Antonio's charitable works on behalf of New Orleans was the right thing to do, not a carte blanche for theft.

Let them be San Antonio's albatross instead of ours. Remember that this is a team that has only won one playoff game in it's entire franchise history!! I'm tired of Tom Benson trying to con more money out of the state to pay for those losers.

You know maybe if the Saints would actually win games then the state would have gotten them a new stadium. But seriously why invest the money when the team preforms so badly?! They struggle just to sell enough seats to lift a TV blackout. I recall a WWL report that the team's economic impact doesn't justify the demands of Benson.

The Superdome is a multi-purpose building and can book other events. Maybe we can get another NFL team that doesn't have a greedy dick as an owner and that can actually win.

He's been trying to break the Superdome lease and/or move/sell the team for some time now. He has no interest in fielding a winning team and no interest in owning a team if he can't make a brazillion dollars.
