4. Actually, I'm kind of happy for the Astros.

They beat the team that had the best record in all of baseball this year and being a life long Cub fan I would normally root for the National League team, but being born, bred and living in Chicago trumps it all this year.

There are two exceptions to my National League rule though, one is the St. Louis Cardinals and the other is the Los Angeles Dodgers. I absolutely loathe both of those teams and have never rooted for either in any World Series.

5. It'll be a great Series

... for us purists. The pitching will be awesome. The emphasis will be on the fundamentals and the execution and the managers' moves.

Bagwell will be DH'ing in Chicago.

Did you know the Astros traded Freddy Garcia (and others) to the Mariners for Randy Johnson in that pennant drive in '98?
