Vikings vs. Packers
Edited on Thu Oct-20-05 03:44 PM by Goblinmonger
I am afraid that this is going to be such a giant suckfest that the Metrodome is going to turn into a black hole.

I am hoping that the rivalry snaps the Vikings out of whatever they have been in.

I'd put money on the former.

I did hear that Sharper is happy because this time when he blitzes, Favre won't be wearing the red jersey. Of course, Henderson will also be able to lay Sharper out, but who knows.

On edit: I'm a dumbass who forgot where the game was.

1. The game is in Minneapolis this week
But I'm wagering a dollar on Green Bay, for the simple fact that this vikings team has WAYYYYYYY too many distractions.

3. I've got last year's playoff game Tivo'd
I might solace myself with that if things get too ugly for the Vikes. :scared:

5. Haha, yeah, I taped it.
It's good wholesome TV, seeing the Vikes spank the Pack AT Lambeau IN the playoffs.

10. That was on NFL channel today in the form of a 1 hr synopsis. I loved
it all over. Good medicine for a bad season.

4. It all depends really
It depends on which team shows up on both sides of the ball. And that depends on the coaches.

For the Vikes, if they have given up on the season, and Tice cant get them to believe otherwise....who knows maybe they have given up on him to

For the Packers, they have alot of experience pulling their season out of the ashes ( poor starts 3 years running). Sherman has alot of experience doing this, too much many say...some in GB would rather have Tice than Sherman ( " at least he can win a playoff game at Lambeau")

BUT MOSTLY, in my jaded opinion: it depends on the striped guys with the yellow hankies. <I think the NFL is starting to be a drag>

11. I agree about the NFL. Too much show and too little substance. Not
saying Favre is a favorite of mine, but I admire his commitment to Green Bay. Loyalty to a team is missed.

6. Vikings
To show you how far the Vikings have fallen, the Packers are 1 1/2 point FAVORITES!

7. A 1 1/2 point favorite?? Really???
Yikes.....as of yesterday there was no line, well, that's at least a plus for the Green & Gold. Go Pack. I'd love to see Sharpless get torched all afternoon. I hope the Packers don't get behind early, that's always Brett's biggest problem in a dome.

9. Sharper
He has had a problem staying healthy for the last few years, a lesson that the Vikings are now learning. His best years are long behind him.

14. Well, I'll Be
Looks like they each decided to suck for one half. At least the Vikings sucked a little less than the Packers.

Sad thing it, they are still in the running for the division title.

16. Wow, quite the 2nd half and an amazing finish.
After letting Favre throw the ball at will throughout the 1st half, they really clamped down and except for their last field goal, stymied the Pack the rest of the game.

Let's face it, though - you knew when the Vikes went up with the TD and still 3 minutes to go, Favre was gonna drive down to score. The only question was whether it would be a TD or FG. And once they tied it up, only 24 seconds to go, I figured no way in hell would we come out of this one with a win.

Great final "drive," if you can call it that (2 plays)! A sweet win, even if this season is a joke.

Damn, thaqt game tore my green and gold heart right out. Players dropping like flies, the "Shermanator" sucking ass, . . . damn, this one hurrrts!

Gotta say it, the Vikes deserved it.

19. Good luck with Cinnci next week
They gotta be looking for some revenge after Pittsburg. Panthers won't be fun, either, but I think you guys have the tougher draw next week.

24. Good luck for us for the rest of the season......
it doesn't get any easier....I thought we would possibly win the first 4 or possibly 5 but now, with only 1 win, it's going to be a long, long season.

25. I just keep thinking how good A.J. Hawk would look in Green and Gold
and playing MLB(moving Barnett to WLB, where he's a natural).

Here's my mantra: A.J. Hawk. No more Sherman. A.J. Hawk. No more Sherman.

Ahh, serenity.

23. Between Tice and Sherman
I'm not sure who is the lesser of two evils. Every time the Pack loses, and the camera looks at Sherman, he's ALWAYS staring up at the scoreboard like, "Did we *really* lose? Huh?" It's a disservice to Favre to have to finish his career under that coach and that team.

But yeah, you're only two games out of the division lead. Gotta love the NFC North!

18. Same thing I thought
"Damn I hate Favre." It didn't even enter my head that Favre would not put points on the board.

I can't believe how long that field goal was though. That had to be at least a 60 yarder; I didn't see it from the side, but he wailed on that ball.

both a personal record and a Viking record.

21. I know it was 56 yards officially
but like they do with homeruns, they often can tell what it was at the "maximum." That ball was way over the bar; it probably had about 5 yards further back it could have been and still been good.

Yes he had at least another 5 yards on that kick!

:woohoo:
