Congratulations Pats fans! You are now above .500!!!
Only 10 teams have better records than you, and only five are tied!!
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

With your record, you could also lead the NFC North!

:applause: :applause: :applause:

(I gotta enjoy it while I can, which probably won't be long, as a Cowboys fan.)

1. I'll only celebrate if they beat the Colts next Monday
As a '72 Dolphin season ticket holder, I can't enjoy any "new" season until the last unbeaten is gone.

2. I guess that's one way to extend the 72 Dolphins' win streak
It's now going on 33 years, and you can continue to cheer for that team each year. Not bad.

3. And I'm not apologizing for it
Edited on Mon Oct-31-05 02:27 AM by Awsi Dooger
I guarantee fans of other NFL teams would feel the same way, if they had a unique feat like that to pretect. Even ones who hate the old Dolphin players for popping the bubbly every year about this time.

That feat can potentially last forever and grow legendary in exponential proportion. The Dolphin team was incredible but got its heyday curtailed when Csonka, Kiick and Warfield bolted to the WFL in their primes prior to '74. That opened the door for the Steeler dynasty. So the one distinguishing trump card aspect is that donut in '72.

There's an ongoing debate/argument on Dolphin message boards regarding the Colts and especially next week's game against New England. The younger fans want the Patriots to lose to help the Dolphin fortunes this year. Older fans like myself realize Miami is mediocre as hell this year and no chance to do anything, so I'm among the biggest Patriot fans on the planet for one week only. I hope I don't have to switch allegiances a week later. The Colts plays home to Houston.

8. Sorry, my wording was poor
I didn't mean to suggest you implied I should apologize for it. I guess that carried over from the Dolphin sites specifically finheaven.com. Some of the younger fans there still don't fully appreciate how special that 1972 accomplishment was. Many of them say they're sick of the franchise being remembered for something that happened before they were born, and actually hope the Colts go unbeaten, just to get rid of that aspect of holding onto the past.

7. You will have to pry the Lombardi Trophy out of our cold, dead feet
The Pats are back.

See you all in the playoffs.

Until then, eat pigskin.

10. Hey...
I dislike the Cowboys as an Eagles fan (of course, lol) but I admit that Dallas has been playing some pretty good football.
