1. Capers.
And I wish Casserly, but it looks like he'll survive.

3. It Official
Capers is gone. The team was told this morning and it was reported on the news at 12:00. McNair will hold a press conference at 3:00 to make the announcement. Casserly will indeed stay, but some of the assistant coaches will be fired.

2. Favre
Do you think the Packers fired Sherman in order to get rid of Brett Favre? I am expecting that Dom Capers will be on the list soon. I do not really think he is the reason Houston has lost so much, but I think he will be going soon. I think the general manager and the owner has more to do with their losing in that they did not pick players who could provide a good offensive line.

4. Jim Haslett also got it in the neck
which is a damned shame.

Tice, miserable RePuke that he is, goes away for good (I hope). Capers will be a d-coordinator fast. Sherman? Best of the unemployed at the moment. He'll get another head job (pun intended); maybe the Texans or Saints will hire him. Martz is already rumored for the Houston slot, but I think it would be a mistake to hire a guy coming off a heart attack (cruel, but real). I think maybe he winds up in a pre-game studio somewhere -- unless he's as boring as he seems. Haslett should land on his feet quick, too, maybe in KC replacing Vermiel.

Norv Turner is next to get the axe. I'm surprised Al Davis has waited this long.

Denny Green just fired two coaches and forced another into retirement, so he's getting one more season to get something done. I think Mike Nolan and Jeff Fisher will be spared, which leaves just the iconic coaches like Tuna and Herman Edwards left under a question mark. Parcells may pull the chain but he certainly won't be fired; Herm is loved in New York but just can't seem to get it done. Could go either way with him.

I think there will be some fresh blood among the new coaching ranks, and not the same old recycled guys.

5. I'm surprised he lasted this long.
Been hearing 'bout the bad atmosphere in the locker-room since his second year.

6. Now I read Herm may wind up in KC
He has ties there with Carl Peterson, they gave him his first job, plus the Jets are going to be cheap with both him and free agents...

The Chiefs will probably balk at giving up a draft choice or two to get him, though.
