Marcus Vick surrenders to police
Marcus Vick, kicked out of Virginia Tech last week for stepping on an opponent in the Hokies' bowl game, turned himself in to the Suffolk, Va., magistrate's office Monday afternoon on charges of brandishing a firearm, according the WAVY-TV's website.

Three warrants were issued for his arrest after three people, two adults and a 17-year-old, accused Vick of pointing a firearm at them Sunday, the television reported on its website...

1. This guy is a real class act.
Does he really think he's special because his brother is an NFL quarterback?

18. No. I honestly
believe that he doesn't want to have to compete with the success of his brother; therefore, the self sabatoge of his own career. IMHO. The amateur psychologist in me.

19. You have a point--standing in his shadow and all...Eli Manning
basically threw away his sophmore year (I believe) by drinking and carousing. He later said it was the pressure of being the younger brother.

4. wow. I don't think I have ever seen a guy's life . . .

turn so utterly to shit this quickly.

tyson, strawberry, that kid from nebraska that made disk vermeil cry -- his name escapes me at the moment -- they all disintegrated in slow motion compared to this.

5. Vermeil's broken out in tears so many times
that it's not a very good clue...but I wanna say Lawrence Phillips?

Even Clarett made it through the combine before he pulled a gun.

9. Just wonder if all this is happening only now, or there's more that
was hushed up over the years.

11. There has to be dirt under the rug
Can't imagine that he just suddenly turned into an embarassment. I do wonder, though, how many passes he got because he was Ron Mexico's little brother.

13. Yeah, probably a lot...
...I think if Vick had had a stellar year (remmeber, they were #3 before getting blown away by Miami, and people were saying they deserved to be in the top 2, instead of USC or Texas) even more stuff would have been swept under the rug. We wouldn't even be having threads like these right now!

10. Hee-hee
Or maybe 3 additional picks? I mean, the guy needs to be watched 24/7. They'll have to take shifts.

12. good point
man, he better throw for about eight thousand yards and thirty touchdowns plus run for another thousand and ten td's in his rookie year to be worth all those draaft picks.

15. he wasn't going to be a real pro qb anyway
he's only 6 feet tall, if that. He'll go to NFL Europe or Canada, maybe.
