For the New England Patriots fans - -
My sons want to ride on that lip of yours!

Man, I went in to work this morning and my co-workers sound like some of the Patriots fans in here! What a bunch of sore losers. For all their smack-talking and their 'guaranteed Super Bowl win' if they could beat Denver, y'all got JACKED UP!

2. Jacked up? More like ripped off.
Pound your chest if you like but that was a bullshit win, nothing to be proud of. No objective observer can watch that PI play and say the refs got it right, it wasn't even close and it changed the whole game. That was almost as bad as the INT call reversal in the Pitt/Indy game, the worst call I've ever seen.

I would take the win if it was my team but I would acknowledge that it was undeserved.

3. It was total horseshit
That said, I know that the Pats killed themselves with five stupid turnovers. The bad calls certainly made a difference and might have changed the tide of the game, but the Pats still beat themselves.

What DOES piss me off are the sore winners here who can't shut the fuck up about the Patriots losing - they know who they are.

The last three years it has been nothing but Patriots fans acting as if they won any SB by more than 3 points. Call it karma. What goes around comes around.

Now, wanna gimmie a ride on that lip!?!?

13. I'm not whining about the Patiots losing
They turned the ball over 5 times and didn't play better than the Broncos that night - ergo, the Broncos advanced, and the Patriots didn't.

The only ones being hostile and immature are you and the rest of the Patriot haters throwing your schoolyard "nah nah nah, loser" taunts around like an eight year old on Ritalin. Real mature. :eyes:

You're not whining eh? Sure sounds like it to me! Jesus, what sore losers some fans can be...

My Eagles sucked this year and you know what? It's funny. I'm not getting all bent out of shape and pissy because people say they played like shit (although at least we had injuries as an excuse, lol). Why do people get so personally offended when others insult "their" team? No one on that team knows you.

Edited on Thu Jan-19-06 12:51 AM by WildEyedLiberal
Please, quote it for me. Show me where I bitched about the Patriots losing unfairly.

....I'm waiting. With bated breath.

Edit: Since you don't seem to understand what a "sore loser" is, let me define it for you: sore losers bitch about losing the game and blame everyone for the loss except their own team. They also insult and disparage the winning team.

Please quote to me exactly where I exculpated the Patriots from responsibility in their loss, or where I have trashed the Broncos, thus making myself a "sore loser."

On the other hand, sore winners love to taunt the losing team and rub their superiority in the face of the losing team. Which is exactly what you're doing.

All you know how to do is make juvenile comments to other posters and post a dozen inane smileys like a junior high AIM fangurl. Have fun replying to this message five more times accusing me of "whining," but I won't see it, because I'm putting you on ignore. I have better things to do than engage in this third-grade bullshit.

ANyone can do a search of your posts in this forum since your beloved Patsies got spanked...and it is SO funny to get you all rialed up and stomping your feet like a toddler! God, you Patsy fans are so predictable and easy. But, as a friendly tip, you *may* wish to consider some kind of help for your attitude, because it really stinks (kinda like the Patriots!) Here's a few smilies just for you: :) :eyes: :hi:  You know we juvenile-types love our smilies!

5. What was undeserved? The Patriots had FIVE turnovers
Nothing bullshit about it. Denver dominated beginning to end, pure and simple. The Patriots LOST that game hands down. They've got no one to blame but themselves for playing like shit.

15. I beg to differ.
That horseshit call changed the whole game and gift wrapped 10 points for the Broncos. That's not to say the Broncos still wouldn't have won had they got the call correct but we'll never know and the Pats should have had a fair shot at it. They didn't and so the win is tainted. You can delude yourself otherwise, it's a free country.

You can't honestly tell me you thought that PI call was legitimate.

19. It was a call that was upheld.
And I am not worried that if the call had never happened, Denver still would have won. That one call didn't rob NE of anything. They gift wrapped their own demise with five turnovers and allowing themselves to be dominated from the beginning of the game till the end.If it was a bad call, there are certainly calls that went in NE's favor that may have swung certain pivotal games to them.

It's part of the game. Champions find ways to overcome them, and NE didn't.

21. Give me a break. That was a pathetic call and changed the momentum.
You say dominated but the Broncos didn't do shit on offense at all without the gifts. And that ludicrous call had a direct effect on one of the turnovers. They call that play right and the game is just different. The Broncos had nothing going on offense at all up until that point and it probably would have stayed that way. But, again, we'll never know because the zebras took it out of their hands.

It's a cheap copout to say "well the call was upheld". You know it was bullshit but you won't admit it.

And Bailey fumbled through the end zone.

It really doesn't make too much of a difference to me because I'm not a Patriots fan, I just hate injustice and a grave injustice was done to them.

4. Yeah, you're right

All the woofing I'd been doing the last few weeks has been unbearable. :eyes:

We Patriots fans certainly deserve all the scorn being heaped upon us by the fans of other teams.

I'm just glad they are handling it so gracefully.

Because sometimes people can be really obnoxious about it.

http://www.theage.com.au/ffxImage/urlpicture_id_1075570360530_2004/02/02/new_england_patriots,1.jpg

It's sad that other fans can only seem to find satisfaction in the failure of others.

Yes, we poor New England fans will just have to muddle through with only the memory of the past four seasons to comfort us.

Too bad other fans can only gloat about our team's failure rather than their own team's success.

They won 3 in 4 years. . . and said past wasn't so long ago in all honesty . . .

That being said Bullshit calls or not. . . a loss is a loss. Sure there was bad calls. . . but the Patriots also committed just a few too many turnovers as well. Officiating this Playoffs has just been flat out bad regardless of who is playing who. Sometimes the calls go your way . . sometimes they don't.

I honestly don't see the big deal with rubbing it in the Pats face at every turn they are now out of the playoffs. This is coming from a fucking dolphin fans who wish he was getting knocked out by Denver instead of waiting and hoping that next season we might get in again.

Edit: Futhermore, I'll still take Patriot fans over Raider fans anyday . . (I apologize to any Raider fans on these boards) :).

9. Hey, my Eagles went to the Super Bowl last year...
Edited on Wed Jan-18-06 04:30 PM by friesianrider
I didn't see anyone here cutting the Eagles any slack this season even though we were the NFC Champions last year and only lost the Super Bowl to a so-called "dynasty" team by a field goal (and, considering our QB was vomiting on the field during said Super Bowl and this season we lost all but 4 or 5 starters to injuries). I know, scorecards don't have photos. Just sayin'. At least the Patriots got most of their starters back - we lost a starter every week down to the last game of the season. What a team or player did in the past doesn't mean shit NOW. And NOW, the Patriots got their asses pretty well kicked (and it didn't hurt they kept bending over, either :)).

It's just a game, and it's just a team. I can't see why people get so personally dedicated and offended and involved in it all. If one can't take some harmless ribbing and poking-fun when their team loses, then I'd advise them not to be a fan.

Of course I support ribbing, I ribbed you a few days ago. I guess I just don't (and I'm talking to all team fans) feel the need to dogpile etc. etc. etc.

I'm a Braves Fan . . God knows I've heard enough ribbing about my teams play off failures over the past few years. . . and I suck it up and take it. I agree people should learn to take a little ribbing. However, I also don't believe in opening a wound and contiously pouring salt into it.

As for the Eagles. Injurys suck . . . but recovery kicks ass. . . here's hoping your team and their season is healthy next year ;).

Edit: Also, off subject but just a curuiosity thing. Being a Philidelphia fan I'm pretty sure you've probably gone and seen a few home games here and there. I also due to many lounge posts have seen you are vegetarian so I'm just curious, does the phillie stadiums have booths you can go to for veggie options. I myself am not vegeterian but it's one of those little curious questions that pop in my head. Hope you don't mind me pestering you about it :).

11. No problem! :)
I fully expect ribbing when my guys mess up, so I don't see why anyone else's team should be immune from it too :) I hope next season will be better too - if we can just get D-Mac and a few of our D-line guys back, I'll be a happy camper!

As for food at the Linc, usually I only eat the chips, pretzels or popcorn (or my favorite, funnel cakes!), and Veterans Stadium has pretty much the same. Often at Eagles games, I am in one of the suites to watch the game, so the food for us is catered by the Linc and in those cases they have a bunch of veggie stuff (fruit, vegetarian burgers, vegetable soups and salads, etc).

And hang in there, Dolphins fan - it'll be back to training camp in a few months! :)

And even though I stick up (somewhat) for the pats on this thread. . doesn't mean my best bro (Pats fan) isn't going to hear a thing or two when I get up to Penn in a few days to visit him (And possibly move there if things go right). How the heck a Pats and a Dolphin fan becomes best friends I don't have a clue at all.

20. You do understand the Eagles won't be there, too, right?
In fact, the Eagles didn't make the playoffs. In fact, the Eagles didn't even win half their games. In fact, the Eagles finished last in their division. Whereas the Patriots won their division, made the playoffs and actually won a playoff game against a team with a better record. They lost on the road to a #2 seed which had enjoyed a bye week and was the better team that night.

Does it make you feel better to taunt New England fans? Does it ease your pain? The Pats have won three out of four Super Bowls, and will be one of the favorites next season as well. Is your own team so pathetic you have to live vicariously through the failures of another team? That's really sad. But I guess when your city hasn't won anything since Reagan's first term, you have to find something to drown your sorrows. Better than alcohol, I suppose. :P

But hey, take as many shots as you want. No taunts or jeers will take the shine off of those three Lombardi trophies or diminish the great memories of watching this team's record performance over the past five seasons.

Go ahead, tee off.

Is to be as classless and rude as possible to fans of another team and then accuse them of whining and being sore losers when you tell them they're being classless and rude. Sore losers bitch about the team that beat them. You will NEVER hear me disparage the Broncos. On the other hand, sore WINNERS rub the loss in the face of the team that got beat, which is all I see going on here. But some people live in their own version of reality...

25. Yes, it is funny to taunt Patsy fans ;)
Because just look at WildEyedLiberal. Talk about getting personally insulted because some engage in harmless ribbing.

I could care less how my Eagles do - well, ok, I do care, but I wasn't ever on here acting like I owned the joint when my team was sucking ass like the Patsies.

My advice to you and the other thin-skinned Patsy fans is this: if you can't take the ribbing, don't be a sports fan. It's part of the game. It's fun to do to others when they suck and your team rocks, and it should be fun to hear it when your team bites the big one (like my boys did this year). Shouldn't be this big of a deal. :)

starting to age a little. Especially on defense, but the biggest problem you guy's have IMO is you lost two of the best coordinators on the planet in Charlie and Romeo. You cannot underestimate their importance to your team. You have to admit the offense is different as well as the defense without them. Injury's didn't help, but, we are talking about football not ballet.
