Is there more hype than usual for the championship games this year
or am I just paying more attention b/c my team is still alive for the first time in a few years? Even the Carolina/Seahawks game seems to be getting a lot of pub.

1. I think there is less hype
than usual. I don't think these matchups have caught the public's attention like last year.

3. Definitely less hype

Indianapolis hosting New England, now that would have been surreal hype, much more than these two games combined.

5. Ditto, Dave
Hope everything is great with you also. :)

I'm OK. Aging parents so that's been a concern but lately a turn for the better.

Hey, I watched the Giants at camp in Albany last summer. They drew a tough playoff opponent in Carolina. I think they could have evicted a Washington or Tampa Bay. Next year should be another uptick.

I'm still on the Mark Warner bandwagon for 2008...

9. glad your parents are doing better
I don't think the Giants stood a chance with the state of their linebacker corp at the end of the year. Eli will take another step up next year so I expect a good year.

I like Warner a lot too. Life is busy these days. Our daughter is turning one year old and her party is next week and I'm getting a new business off the ground. Lots of good clients already including a couple of Senate candidates.

11. That sounds great, Dave
Best of luck on those ventures and happy birthday to your daughter!

I'll be looking at the Maryland gov race closely this year due to my distaste for Ehrlich stemming from 2002. I still think O'Malley can pull it off. Of course, if he loses I already know the excuse around here.

2. I think you're just paying attention more.
And if you live in the city where a team is still alive of course they are going to get more play. Not a whole lot of juice pumping for the games here.

8. It's probably just because you're paying more attention :)
There isn't too much hype here (especially compared to last year but of course we went to the Super Bowl last year so that accounts for most of it). When your team's in the big games, you're hyper sensitive to the news about it.

They should both be good games, but I'm personally really pulling for the Steelers to win it all!

10. I have tto agree with every one else
There is less hype.
Last year was Peyton vs. Brady and Phily in its 4th NFC Championship trying to get to theSuper Bowl
This year, is 2 West Coast home teams facing two 6 seeds.
