And sure, it may be "their money" (maybe it isn't, maybe they keep seperate accounts, I know people who do) but that doesn't mean he can't give her a present, right? It's a gift, and married couples who share money do, in fact, give each other presents, you don't ask "Hey Bob, what did you buy yourself for Christmas?" You ask "hey, what did Jane get you?' even if Bob is the only one who earns outside money, she still bought the present, and paid for it, right?

5. you know what's interesting about this?

and really sad? the fact that they are going back to the SAME PLACE as she went 30 years ago, and doing the SAME THING. it must be heartbeaking to do something like this and come back a half lifetime later and learn that your earlier visit might as well have never happen for all the long term good it did.


maybe they didn't convert enough of them, and God is punishing the savage natives? Pat, what do you think?
