Any Knicks fans out there? |
|
If so, can we discuss what a colossal f***up Isiah Thomas has been? I feel so bad for Larry Brown -- he's surrounded by first round picks, yet all of them are under 25 and, to paraphrase Sir Charles, don't know how to play basketball. And I don't think Steph has it in him to step up to the plate in terms of leadership.
I'm a diehard fan, but this season is killing me.

and its not getting any better any time soon. I do wonder how Malik Rose gets minutes ahead of Channing Frye.

5. Frye has a ton of potential |

However, I'm guessing that Rose does a better job of executing Brown's plays. The lineup changes have been perplexing, but my guess is that Brown is trying to establish a system and make everyone interchangeable within it. Not so great for team chemistry, but I suppose it's a way to teach everyone how to play for him.
Ariza, for example, was brilliant at times last year, but he's invariably on the inactive list this year. My guess is that he's too immature to stay within Brown's system. He's a killer player, but he's a second year pro with only one year of college before that. Think about the impact he'd be making in the NCAA this year if he had stayed at UCLA...

They're a disaster. I told people Isiah was going to be a waste of time. I was surprised when they disagreed. He's never done shit as office guy. He's quite dislikable and doesn't have a sense of what it takes to win. The team has gone through so many roster changes that it's unrecognizable from 2 years ago. Marbury is not a leader.

So embarassing. Thomas reminds me of someone for whom I used to work. Constantly failing upward. He displays such a fundamental cluelessness about management -- you can have a ton of young hotshots, but they need some experienced co-workers to train them and keep them in line. Davis and Marbury don't fit the bill, even though I like them both as players.

that if the Knicks finish within a certain range in the draft this year, their pick goes to Chicago (ala the Eddie Curry deal), if its not in that range, it goes to Phoenix (ala Quentan Richardson). And NEXT year it goes to Chicago.
So the Knicks could, in theory, not have a draft pick this year AND next year.
THAT'S how much Thomas has screwed up this team.
