Where are all those Seattle fans now!!!! |
|
Huh? Huh? WHat happened to them? Pittsburgh hardly played their best game and they still won by 11 points. It's sad when a team beats you by 11 points and they didn't even have a first down till the half.
Congrats to Pitt fans!!!

I wasnt even rooting for Pitt until their mouthy fans got on here and started acting like the game was over a week before it began. I was just wondering where they all went. They sure talked up a big game up for the last two weeks and now they're all mysteriously absent.......things that make you go 'hmmm.'

I was rooting for the Steelers, er against Paul Allen.
Still, if you weren't rooting for the Steelers, why post such a thread? Mouthing off before games happens every year. And Seahawks fans are hardly the worst.

There was one Seachickens fan in particular on here who always had something to say. You can't come on here every single day and talk up your team and say theyre gonna shut out their opponents then get beat by 11 by a team that didnt even get a first down until the second quarter. If you make that mistake you can expect to be mocked!

That's a hoot of a post from a poster who refers to Seattle as the Seachickens (Umm. You can't do better than that handy toddler-inspired tossback?),

|
Kinda like Republicans, if you ask me.
As for the officiating, I think they pulled in those Sun Belt refs from the Alamo Bowl. It wasn't good, and it certainly seemed biased. However, they should have gone to someone other than Jerramy Stevens. I haven't liked that guy since he drove his truck into a nursing home, ran off, and then lied about it!

13. Ain't that the truth. |
|
I wasn't rooting for either team, just wanted a good game, and what I saw was one of the worst officiated games in any sport that was my misfortune to watch.
It's interesting that if you go to the various fan forums for other NFL teams, the overwhelming majority think Seattle got jobbed time and time again.

Too bad-- it would have been a lot closer if they hadn't shot themselves in the foot so many times!

Firstly, the refs (sorry, but when the "winning" QB's final rating is less than 25, it's gotta be a hollow feeling.), secondly the Steelers, and of course themselves. And before anybody wants to accuse me of 'sour grapes" simply because I'm a "homer", here's a discussion about the obviously biased officiating. http://forums.espn.go.com/espn/thread?forumID=821&start=0&threadID=3134345&sortBy=null

the missed fumble no-call?
I didn't have a pony in the race, but it seemed that the officiating wasn't any worse than it normally is. The NBA still has the worse officiating hands down in sports.

|
Could you please explain that for me. The only one I can think of is the Hasselback call where he was ruled down by contact. That seems late in the game so I am thinking that is not the one. So which one is it.

Especially when the refs so blatantly controlled the game in favor of the Steelers. Crowing in the face of that is quite unseemly.

Most of the people here talking about the officiating are not Seattle fans. Seattle fans are conditioned to lose and to accept it. And that's what they've done. It's fans of the NFL in general that are making this an issue, as they are worried about the future of a sport the love.
How about you posting a while on topics that matter at DU, and then coming back here? I think we'd all like to see that.

Where's the temper tantrum? That would be in your original post. And, of course, you ignore the fact that I rooted for Pittsburgh. Apparently because your arguments can't stand up to muster without your imagination.
Sad. Very sad.
But seriously, if you are going to join in at DU, you have to post elsewhere.

12. I'm a Seahawk fan and I'm here now... |
|
Good game, you won, Seattle shot themselves in the foot, had the oppurtunities to overcome, but didn't, they had some ticky tack calls which shouldn't have been called, but the plain and simple truth is this...Pitt made fewer mistakes, and made the big plays, and Seattle didnt...the refs helped out in that regard to a certain degree, but I dont blame them, for Seattles loss...Seattle lost, Pitt won. There are probably like 50 seahawk fans(just being sarcastic) outside of Washington state...I am one of them...it was a good game, I am happy that they made it to the dance...there were over 30 other teams this year that didn't make it, and Sea lost by one freaking game...they were close. There is always next year, barring W doesn't get us into a Nuke war....:) Now its time to focus on the Canucks, and Baseball!!...:)

Please friends, let us be magnanimous in victory. From the rules: Do not "stalk" another member from one discussion thread to another. Do not follow someone into another thread to try to continue a disagreement you had elsewhere. Do not talk negatively about an individual in a thread where they are not participating. Do not post messages with the purpose of "calling out" another member or picking a fight with another member. Do not use your signature line to draw negative attention to another member of the board.
Do not post "flame bait" discussion topics. While there is no clear line regarding what constitutes flame bait, the moderators have the authority to shut down threads which they consider too rhetorically hot, too divisive, too extreme, or too inflammatory. Please use good judgment when starting threads; inflammatory rhetoric does not normally lead to productive discussion.
