At least one person on this board asked what type of lofty status would Big Ben attain if the Steelers won the Superbowl. The Steelers won the game, but they failed to get a first down until about the second half or close to that point. Big Ben was intercepted at least once. In addition, he seemed a little nervous during the first half. So with the poor play of both team, but especially the poor play of the Steelers team, even though they won, does Big Ben really deserve to be given lofty status as a result of this Superbowl championship?

And from interviews I've read so far today, it doesn't appear that Ben thinks he deserves it either.

2. yeah he knows he nearly lost the game |

he said that the defense and the rest of the team is the star, and he's the supporting player, not the other way around.

3. Hey, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. |

Remember Trent Dilfer when he was with the Baltimore Ravens?
In the 2001 SB (The 2000 season), Baltimore's defense had the star players; all Dilfer had to do was not screw up.
He was no Brett Favre, but he did toss a touchdown bomb to Brandon Stokley. He played well enough for his team to win. So did Ben Roethlisberger.
