Beating Kentucky 65-59 at Rupp without Simien shows they're for real. I won't anger the B-ball Gods by predicting a championship this year, but it must be acknowledged that they've got as good a shot as anybody.

1. They're absolutely for real |
|
My parents were worried when Simien got hurt but I told them not to worry. KU is solid and deep. I didn't think we'd get as far as we did last year, but I expect us to get to the finals again this year.
Hey, did you see Ashley Judd at the game? They only showed her about 200 times. :)

3. Great game.......When does Simien come back? |
|
I feel really bad for him, as he always seems to get hurt. They may have won it all a few years back if he had been healthy. Some of the young guys looked pretty good - Golindo and #34 (not sure what his name was). Miles, Giddens and Langford are very experienced, and getting Simien back might be enough to get them over the top.

4. Thought it was gonna be a couple more games. |
|
But he was back in the Jayhawks win over Iowa State Wednesday night. (13 pts. on 5-9 shooting with 9 boards.)

5. Yep, just saw that last night |

They looked pretty good w/o him, and should be in even better shape now. IMO they're not as talented this year as they were with the Hinrich/Collison team, but they're still getting the job done. UNC has also looked very good the last few games, as they demolished both Maryland and Ga. Tech. I'm very interested to see how it plays out, as there are no clearcut favorites (a la UCONN last year) this time.
