I can't see anyone beating Philly in the NFC now...
...I thought maybe Green Bay might give them a good game, but so much for that.

The drop-off between Philly and the rest of the league is ridiculous. Of course, I said that Philly was gonna roll over Carolina last year, because I thought St. Louis (last year) had the best chance to beat them, so what do I know? Besides, Philly has a way of losing that NFC Championship Game--it's sort of become a tradition with them.

Anyone think St. Louis, Atlanta or Minnesota has a chance?

4. You're right--I can't help thinking they'll find a way to lose!
Not a Philly fan, so I don't care. Actually, I think it would be nice if they lost again--now that we don't have a curse in baseball, let's have it in another sport!

2. I can't see them beating anyone but the Rams
That is IF the Vikings stay as hot as they were yesterday.

I think it will be hard for Philly to beat Atlanta anyway.

3. Really? I think Atlanta has looked pretty bad the second half
of the season.

Do you know if Philly had home-filed advantage the last three years? I know they did last year. Wonder if they should try to lose some more during the regular season so they don't have to play the NFC Championship Game at home!

10. It's just that Vick (if healthy) can win it all by himself
Well okay not ALL by himself but Vick is what Favre used to be.

5. Phila's Definitely the Best Team
but the best team doesn't always win. Phila has not been a clutch team the last few years. Not having any loyalties the NFC teams, I'd like to see the Eagles get a Super Bowl for once.

6. Uh, no, Green Bay wasn't going to touch them.
On the other hand, a confident Vikings team, with a fair defensive performance behind it might just make waves against a rusty Eagles team that hasn't won a game in four weeks. The Eagles have everything to lose, while the Vikings have nothing to lose. It's the perfect set up, as it was with the Vikings in Green Bay.

And we all know the Eagles reputation in title games, should they get that far.

7. You're not a Philadelphian, are you?
Or you didn't grow up here, at least.

That "no one can beat Philadelphia" is not a very Philly attytood.

You should be beaten down enough to say "woe is me, we barely had a chance with TO, now he's hurt, so we really suck. And even when we don't suck, we have bad luck and lose anyway."

16. Hey, sounds like the FORMER mantra for the Red Sox!!!!
And no, I'm not from Philly.

Maybe the curse of the Red Sox DIDN'T go away--it just got transferred to another team in another sport???

9. No Chance for the poor Vikes.
They just won their superbowl. Winning outside, at lambeau, over the packers in the playoffs. Those guys are riding a huge high and they won't come down in time to be ready for the Eagles.

11. Yup
hear that same shit every day. All last week the Vikings didn't have a chance against the slackers but guess WHAT. Tell them they suck keep them underdogs thats the way they like it. But most of all keep up the media reports of Moss and his bad boy antics. Yup The Vikings just don't have a chance against such a team as the all powerful eagles. They should just call the eagle team and tell them Hey you will win anyway because of what every one is saying so we will just concede.

12. Please don't concede!
The Eagles cordially request your presence so as to tune up for another crack at the NFC championship. They promise they will respect your team and show you with a wide array of blitzes and stunts. Oh and I hope Mr. Moss enjoys playing with our pro-bowl cornerback and safety; lets get physical!

13. Without TO, Philly is hardly better then Atlanta...
therefore, I think I'm gonna have to pick the Falcons as my NFC favorite. When about any team faces Atlanta's offense, there are about 6-7 plays a game where Michael Vick is going to do something that the defense just has little or no chance to defend.

I'm a Steelers fan, and Vick scares the bejeezus out of me, and the Steelers have the best defense in the league...

14. Without TO the birds are still better than the falcons.
Remember they had to play the NFC championship game without Brian Westbrook, and they didn't have Jeremiah Trotter or Jevon Kearse. The Eagles without TO are still WAY better then the falcons.

17. I think all of them have a chance.
I can see Minnesota playing a near perfect game this week and winning - however unlikely that is, I still see it. I also see the Rams beating Atlanta this week too - fast field - good for StL.

2 8-8 teams playing to go to the Super Bowl?
I give it about a 4.7% chance.

:P

18. I think Philly is perfectly set up for a fall
They no longer have the only offensive weapon that really scares anyone. (Westbrook is a nice receiver out of the backfield, but space is going to be limited without Owens).

They have no running game to speak off.

And they haven't had a meaningful snap in about five weeks.

19. But at least our fans are mentally prepared for the loss
Philadelphians never expect to win football games.

Basketball maybe, hockey in the old days (Yo! Broad Street Bullies!), baseball during the 80's, but not football.

20. No one is afraid of McNabb? Bullshit.
The eagles got to the NFC championship three straight years without westbrook and without TO. They got there because of McNabb, and McNabb is still there. No running game to speak of? I would rather have Westbrook then just about anyone else in the league and that includes Onterrio Smith.

Oh and didn't the defense allow the second fewest points in the league? Would have been less if the starters had played at the end.

And don't fool yourself with the "meaningful snap" crap either. Every team in the league is jealous that the eagles could rest so many starters. That is what the buy week is for, and that is why teams try so hard to earn it. Few teams advance to the big game without having a buy week.

21. So basically you have the same team that lost for three straight years
McNabb is a very good qb, but he was great with T.O. He's been just good enough to lose for three years. Without T.O., it's not a scary team.

But the rest of the NFC is so horrifyingly bad, they will probably still make the Super Bowl.

23. How does getting to the championship constitute losing?
If that is losing then I will take it. Its certainly better than being knocked out before the championship.

But no, the Eagles team this year is far better than the last three on both sides of the ball, even without TO.

22. I couldn't see anyone beating them before this past weekend either.
Green Bay never had a chance. The Eagles are the class of the conference by far. The only way they lose in this crap conference is if they beat themselves.
