Can South Carolina deep-six Spurrier's career, too?

Or did he already do that in DC? It's getting to the point that all we can brag about is our reputation as the ultimate graveyard for coaches.
(In case you haven't heard, it's been confirmed that Holtz has announced to his players and coaches that he is retiring and that Spurrier is taking over. Fore!)

Edit: The confirmation, such as it is, was on local sports radio and so no link is available. Here's the AP story, still full of denials from USC: http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/F/FBC_SCAROLINA_SPURRIER?SITE=SCCOL&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT

2. He'll do OK.

If you can keep your HS talent from leaving the state, USC will do fine. But that's been the problem, a lot of your good talent ends up going to Georgia, Auburn or Tennessee, or up to NC State, etc.... SC's got some of the best HS football talent in the country for it's size, it's just a matter of getting them to stick around instead of bolting for the others.

On a side note, I hope the South Carolina Gamecocks will one day play the Oregon State Beavers. I believe the Cocks would pound the Beavers!!

3. God, I Hope So
Two years of watching of this "genius" bury the Redskins at the bottom of the NFC East was enough. He actually thought he could win in Washington with a bunch of castoffs from other teams just because they played for him at Florida! Well, he shares at least one trait with Lou Holtz-being a great college coach, but not even mediocre at the next level.
