Floyd Landis back in Yellow.
For the toughest day of the Tour tomorrow. He looked tough today. Tomorrow will tell all!

Maybe.

7. "Greatest single day ride in the history of the Tour de France"
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 09:42 PM by Awsi Dooger
That's what the OLN announcer just called it: "It's impossible. Let's put it that way. But Floyd Landis is doing it."

He listed all the greats in Tour history and said this performance was more stunning than anything he could remember from any of them.

Now 30 seconds from yellow but favored to win, considering the time trial ahead.

9. still in third after Thursday.
can he make up 30 seconds in the time trial?

i doubt it.

hopefully the run into paris is a real race this year, not just a cermonial love fest.

10. I'm guessing he can
During yesterday's stage one of the announcers said the leader probably needed 5 minutes on Landis to feel safe for the time trial. That might be an exaggeration but it's so far outside the 30 second gap that I like Landis' chances.

11. Landis was 1:20 or more better than the two in front of him in the 1st TT.
So, it's very possible.

17. Perhaps he no longer considers himself a Mennonite?
From Wikipedia, "The bike was Landis’ escape route from his family culture. Growing up in a conservative Mennonite family in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Landis wanted to escape from what he viewed as narrow culture of work, family and church. His parents questioned his obsession with cycling and were confused by his determination to follow a different way of life."

18. That is possible...
I heard about his roots on the news this morning...his parents had to go over to neighbor's houses to watch him race because they didn't have a television in their house. So I guess they are kind of hard core Mennonites
