Le Tour: Landis recaptures lead
Floyd Landis grabbed the Tour de France leader's yellow jersey after finishing third in Saturday's time-trial to all but secure overall victory.

Landis finished behind Serhiy Honchar, who won his second time-trial of this year's race, and Andreas Kloden, who moved up to third overall.

But the American transformed a deficit of 30 seconds on previous leader Oscar Pereiro into a 59-second lead.

That should be enough to give Landis victory on the final stage into Paris.

1. I thought it was over for him when he cracked, but he showed
what he was made of. He has earned the yellow jersey.

2. My heart sank when he cracked in the penultimate Alps stage
but I sat in slack jawed amazement when he did the most impressive breakaway I have ever seen.
The long time trial must seem like a hop around the block in comparison.

I have to say it. If he can come back from this hip replacement, Floyd will be the new Lance.

3. And the best part is, I'll bet that when Lance retired
there was a sigh of relief that the American influence over the tour had retired with him. Now not only are they in danger of being beaten by an American for the eighth time in a row, but he's an American with a bum hip!

5. Hip Exagerated
I think the hip story is really being exagerated. I do not think a person with a bad hip could compete in a 2000 mile race. I think he may have a sore, the hip is not bum.

6. I don't think so...
I was reading up on this guy, and he has a condition called avascular necrosis due to a fall a few years ago. Basically that means the blood flow to the bone was compromised and the bone is slowly dying, the only treatment at this point is a total hip replacement. It's the same injury that ended Bo Jackson's career
